“Proud Morgies learning together”
Last week the K-2 students had a visit from
the EnviroMentors program sponsored by
the Broken Hill City Council. They learnt
about litter and how it damages our
environment and what they should do with
their rubbish.
KS students knew all the
right answers and enjoyed
the ‘picking up rubbish’
relay.
Keep up the great work Morgies!
HEARING TESTS
Australian Hearing, in partnership with the Broken
Hill Department of Rural Health, will be providing
targeted hearing screening for students aged 5 to 7
years at Morgan Street Public School in Term
3. This screening is aimed at children whose care-
givers or teachers hold concerns for their hearing.
You might be concerned for your child’s hearing if
they often don’t respond to sound or if they are
often asking for you to repeat things. If you would
like to have your child’s hearing tested, complete a
consent form from the K-2 office and return the
form by the Tuesday 2nd August 2016.

6MEGASTARS
6M have been working hard learning new things. At times
learning become hard and sometimes we want to give up. When
that happens it means we are in the ‘Learning Pit’ and that is a
good place to be because we are acquiring new skills. Our
teachers, Ms Muir, Mrs Dougherty and
Mr Jordan, help us to climb out of the pit
by teaching us different strategies.
These strategies include asking questions,
trying things different ways and working
collaboratively.
We will always be in
and out of the
learning pit which is
OK!
6M welcomes Mr
Jordan who will
be teaching us
some of the time
while Ms Muir is
Relieving
Principal
We love doing art with Ms
Muir and have been
learning how to paint
landscapes. We think
they look awesome.
We are getting excited about a number of things coming our way
soon. Our coming attractions include:
High school transition visits - Our first one is next week!
Public Speaking competition - many of us have worked hard on
writing our speeches last term
Canberra excursion—our last excursion in primary school!!
6M have been studying Global
Connections in HSIE. We have
learnt about ways in which
Australia is connected to the
rest of the world. One way is
through importing and exporting
goods and services. We did a
project on an Australian export
product. There were many
different topics researched and
presented in different ways.
Kiara did an awesome job with
her topic ‘Vegemite’.
