Choices
Dave Jordan was released from prison on June 9, 2016. Eight and half years of incarceration gave
Dave more than enough time to reflect on his choices in life. He was a family man, hard worker, enjoyed
life with family and friends, never getting in trouble with the law, until one fateful night ten years ago.
That night Dave had an accident that forever changed his life. Dave will share his journey as he faces
the consequences of his choices.

DID YOU KNOW? John Adams wrote on July 3, 1776: “It [Independence Day] ought to be solemnized with
Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
Alphonse Mucha was a talented painter and graphic designer who lived from 1860
to 1939. He was born in Moravia (today part of the Czech Republic) and later studied
and worked in Austria and France. While he was in Paris, he became famous for his
posters and illustrations advertising theatrical and operatic performances and
commercial products. Mucha invented an entirely new style that featured beautiful
women in flowing garments surrounded by flowers, foliage, and other graceful
decorative motifs. His breakthrough came in December 1894 with a commission for
a poster for the actress Sarah Bernhardt. His poster design for the
play Gismonda became a sensation in Paris and led to an exclusive contract for six
consecutive years by the actress. He designed all her posters, as well as her theater
decorations and costumes. His art is among the most recognized worldwide.
Art Nouveau is the art movement which is now regarded as having been started
entirely by the work of Alphonse Mucha before inspiring others to follow a similar
style which helped this art movement to expand over time. http://web.pinknet.cz/~malin/mucha.html
Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno de los Remedios Crispín Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruíz y Picasso (1881-
1973) of Spain was the most prolific of all professional painters in a career which lasted 75 years. It has been estimated that Picasso
produced about 13,500 paintings and designs, 100,000 prints and engravings, 34,000 book illustrations and 300 sculptures and
ceramics.
The first Independence Day fireworks were set off on July 4, 1777. Congress led the way for
the encouragement of fireworks on the Fourth of July by authorizing a display on July 4, 1777, in Philadelphia. The first fireworks in Boston took place on the same date.
