Call to Worship Psalm 145:1-7 *Gathering Hymn Come, Thou Almighty King #212 Confession of Faith 1 Timothy 6:6-10 But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. Confession of Sin Father God, we confess boasting in our gifts, which have been given to us by You. We take pride in the vain glories of this world, that which we can see and hold, yet which are quickly fading and fleeting from our grasp. We have lost sight of eternity; give us eyes to see! We have lost intimacy with You, our God; give us a heart to feel Your presence! Forgive us our sins, which alienate us from You and keep us from experiencing the depths of Your grace and mercy. manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light. 9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. 10 “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. 11 If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own? 13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” 14 The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him. 15 And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be administered next Sunday and our mercy needs offering will be received during the regular offering. The first Sunday of the month is also a time when we collect nonperishable food items for the food pantry.

A Motion from the Session to make an exception to the Church By-Laws Article II, Governing Boards, to allow for election of Stephen Bird RE, Steven Madden RE, and Brian Moran Deacon, each for a term of 2 additional years without a Sabbatical, due to the special circumstances of small current governing boards, and the continued transition of a new Senior Pastor.

Running for the Office of Elder/Don Wheatley, Jr. Don grew up at Liberty Church where his family attended for many years, and was later a member at Chaplegate Presbyterian Church, where he met his wife Beth, at the College and Career Fellowship (CCF). He served on the leadership team of CCF and facilitated their small groups. God has blessed Don and Beth with three children, Nathan (23), Jessica (20) and Lydia (17)—who all love and serve God. Don currently leads a small group and serves as a head usher. He is an avid DIYer and routinely takes on projects that are beyond his abilities. He enjoys working with his hands, personal finance and spicy food. Splitting firewood is the only life-skill for which he believes he may be close to attaining expert status! He is a graduate of Towson University (Business and Economics) and Johns Hopkins (Finance). For most of his career he has worked for the Department of Defense (most recently Army), but in 2019 accepted a position with Health and Human Services, where he serves as a Division Director and Contracting Officer. If approved by the congregation, Don looks forward to serving and being involved in the lives of the people at Liberty. He is also committed to helping the PCA denomination stay true to God’s Word. He is humbled by and appreciates the weightiness of potentially serving God’s church as an Elder.

Friday, February 28-Sunday, March 1

Pastor Nick, former Youth Pastor at Liberty has invited Liberty’s high school graduates under the age of 30 to join the New Covenant Church young adults at their retreat the end of February. It will be held at Charter Hall Retreat Center in Perryville. (Many of you may remember it from youth retreats here at Liberty). Cost is $50 per person and includes two night’s accommodations and five meals. There will be four teaching and worship times led by Bradley Chwastyk, (ruling elder and the Director of Music at Severn Run EP and a licensed pastoral candidate under care of Chesapeake Presbytery) and Nick Hathaway. Bradley will be teaching on the topic of worship and Nick will be leading worship and preaching on the same theme Sunday morning. Flyers with details are on the back table in the Sanctuary and Old Sanctuary.

Prayer List For Our Church Family and Needs in the Body Ralph Spring was put on home hospice care at Carroll Lutheran

Village last Saturday (Jan. 18th). Pray for his wife, Carolyn, and the family as they help to keep him comfortable & spirits high. They are all exhausted but doing ok. Pray for continued peace & comfort.

Pray for Jan Duty who is recovering from surgery. Pray for Chas Tracy who is having neuropathic pain and low vision. Pray for our pastors as they serve the body here at Liberty. For Extended family and Friends and Others Please pray for Anne Frampton’s cousin, Greg, who has been

diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer. Greg is a believer. Pray for Keith Frampton’s coworker, Jim who has pancreatic cancer

which is spreading. He will be resuming his original chemo regiment. Please pray for healing, comfort and salvation.

Pray for our National, State, and local leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-3).
