How to Check Out a Morro Bay Junior Yacht Club Boat
• Request a boat from the Junior Advisor, stating the event for which the boat will be used and the period of time it would be away.
• When collecting the boat make sure to take all of the parts needed including blades, spars, and running rigging.
• Notify Junior Advisor which boat & sail number was taken. • Return the boat and all of the gear as soon as possible, usually the weekend
following the event. • Notify Junior Advisor when the boat has been returned.
Tips • If car topping an Optimist, remove the air bags to prevent them chaffing at the
straps or flying out of the boat. • An Optimist needs to be secured from sliding back out of the straps holding it to
the car or trailer. • If taking an Optimist up into the mountains, like Huntington Lake, deflate the air
bags or they will pop. • When collecting the boat take note of the sail number as you will need it to
register for the event.
