• Press Ganey improvement Implemented a project to keep patients informed through their ED stay. This included wait times for radiographic studies and labs, important phone numbers, and names of the providers caring for them. Resulted in an increase in Press Ganey scores.

• Redesign of departmental PI process Devised new peer-review process for departmental PI cases. Implemented a new “scoring system” for issues identified in cases. Expanded process of root cause analyses resulting in improved implementation of corrective actions.

• Staffing redesign Adjusted staffing patterns based on patient volume. Led to decrease in door-to-provider times.
