Cemetery News: Mowing in the cemetery has begun. Please remove any item on the ground in our cemetery. It is hard for the mowers to trim and it is beginning to look bad. Shepherds hooks not attached to the stone will be removed. The winds often blow items all over the cemetery, so please label your item so it can be put back on the stone it belongs on. If you do not have a head-stone up on your lot, do so as soon as possible. At the time you purchased your plot, you were given a policy and regulation sheet that stated “After the purchase of a lot or death of a loved one, a headstone must be in place within one year.” Re-minder letters will be mailed soon. Call the office if you have any questions.

FUNDRAISING FEASIBILITY & PLANNING STUDY

St. Mary Catholic Church is currently in the planning stages of a ma-

jor capital campaign to raise the funds needed to build a new church.

As a preliminary step to this effort, we are conducting a Fundraising

Feasibility & Planning Study to assess our financial potential and to

help us to prepare for this eventual effort by seeking member sugges-

tions and feedback in all aspects of our plans. Toward the end, we

will be inviting members to participate in this important study in fol-

lowing way(s).

On Monday, June 1st through Wednesday, June 3rd, we will be

conducting a series of Personal, Confidential Interviews with a

select group to get their more intimate feedback on our proposed

project and campaign plans.

Finally, on the first weekend of June (June 6th and 7th), after all the

Masses we will be making an announcement at Mass and through

our church bulletin to encourage everyone else’s participation

through a special Online Survey and site that we plan to set up

where members can go to read about our plans and complete a brief

survey questionnaire to provide their input and feedback.

The feedback and responses received are strictly confidential and will

be received, compiled and analyzed by Walsh & Associates, Church

Fundraising Specialists, the firm we’ve hired to coordinate and con-

duct this special study for us. They will then prepare and share with

us a special report summarizing the results of the study together with

their suggestions based on their experience and member response on

how to proceed in addressing out needs.

So please plan to participate in this important study if you can. Your

feedback is both needed and will be greatly appreciated.

This weekend, we celebrate the feast of the Holy Trinity. We worship in and through the Holy Trinity. Each Mass begins the same

way, “In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. The simple yet powerful prayer signifies the core of our faith,

the belief of one God in three persons. The Mass also ends with the blessing of the Holy Trinity to the entire congregation.

During Mass, the high point of the Mass is the Eucharistic prayer as the gifts of bread and wine are consecrated and become part of the

Second person of the Holy Trinity, God the Son. The Eucharistic prayer is Trinitarian in its structure. This is evident in the “Sanctus”

or the “Holy, Holy, Holy.” The prayer gives thanks to the Triune God as we prepare for the Eucharist to nourish and strengthen us

through grace.

The last words of Jesus command us to make the life of the Trinity real to others. We are then told that we will not do this alone. Even

though He is ascending to the Father, He is still with us, always, until the end of the world. May the Presence bring you comfort and

give the courage to live with holy boldness, the life we are called to live. May the grace given through the Holy Trinity strengthen us

upon our journey toward eternal life.

Father Gary

Volunteer Opportunities

We would like to put together a committee to head up our 125th An-

niversary of St. Mary Parish and the 200th Anniversary of Ire-

land. There will be various things going on and we want to get start-

ed as soon as we can. Call the parish office if you would like to vol-

unteer or help organize upcoming events.

We are needing a couple of volunteers to be on the Picnic Commit-

tee. Please pray about this and consider helping. The picnic is our

biggest fundraiser and your help is needed. At least call and get de-

tails and see if this is something you would be interested in helping

with.

We are in need of ushers to help out at the 5:30pm Mass and 7:00am

Mass. This is not “every Sunday” more like a “once a month”. Call

the parish office for details.
