Religious Ed - There are no religious ed classes next Sunday, October 11 because of Columbus Day weekend.
Pennies For Life - There will be a collection after the Masses next for Pennies For Life. You are encouraged to donate at least one penny for each year you are old. Feel free to round up! All donations will be given to Family Resources Center in Peoria for their respect life work.
Thank You! - Thank you to everyone who helped with and donated towards the Potato Bar Fundraiser last weekend. We made a profit of $2,144.79 to go towards their spring break mission trip. If you would like to donate, make checks out to St. Luke Newman Center or put money in an envelope marked Newman Center.
Religious Ed Parents - Parents, if you have not signed up to help provide snacks and to help with our program, please do so. There are a number of spots that still need to be filled. Ladies Guild - The Ladies Guild will hold their next meeting October 13 at 7:00 pm in the church basement. Each
October the guild hosts a birthday party for residents of Maple Lawn with October birthdays. We will be asking for ideas for entertainment and ladies to donate an angel food cake. Please help us if you can. We will be discussing our Christmas dinner at the Chanticleer. Details later. Mary Lee Faupel will give a program on Divine Mercy. Forty Days For Life - Christians throughout Peoria are invited to take part in the national 40 Days for Life effort from September 23 through November 1. In addition to 40 days of peaceful prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, please consider volunteering to pray outside of National Health Care abortion clinic at 7405 N. University St. Peoria, during the 40 days, and spread the word to others about this important life-saving effort. St. Luke's day to pray at the abortion clinic is Monday, October 5 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Sign up in the church foyer or call Lucy Twait at 309-645-6726. Since 40 Days For Life has begun, there have been 650,000 participants from over 17,500 churches, 579 cities across 30 countries. 10,331 lives have been saved, 118 abortion worker conversions and 60 closed abortion centers! Concert - Marie Miller, the popular singer and musician who performed for Pope Francis during the Festival of Families, will be performing a family friendly concert at the Knights of Columbus Hall on the Washington Square on Tuesday, October 13th. Spaghetti Dinner - St. Elizabeth's parish in Washburn will host its 63rd annual spaghetti dinner on Sunday, October 4, 11 AM - 3 PM, at the church, located at 411 E. Parkside Drive, Washburn. Dinners will include salad, spaghetti, bread, homemade dessert and drink. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 - 12. Ages 3 and under are free. Carry-outs will be available. The fundraiser will also include a bake sale and raffles. Frozen spaghetti sauce will also be sold for $7.50 per quart and $3.75 per pint. Craft & Vendor Fair - The Elizabeth Ministry of St. Patrick in Washington, IL will be hosting its annual craft and vendor fair on October 31st from 9-2. There will be over 50 participants with hundreds of hand crafted and specialty items. Admission is FREE and you can grab lunch from the concession stand and some fresh kettle corn to head home with! Hog Roast - Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will hold its 26th annual Hog Roast at the fellowship hall, 698 Reagan Drive, Saturday, October 3, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
