Schedule – The 11:00 AM Sunday Mass at the Newman Center will be discontinued during the summer. The Thursday Masses will be at 8:00 AM.
Office – During renovations, the parish office has been moved to the parish hall. To avoids the construction area, please use the lower doors if you are going to the office.
Parish Council – The parish council will meet on Saturday, May 21 following the 4:00 PM Mass.
Congratulations – Congratulations to Fr. Radosevich who will celebrate his 26th anniversary of his priestly ordination on May 26. Thank you for answering God’s call!
Congratulation Graduates – Congratulations to the St. Luke members who are graduating this year: Grace Punke and Clare Raney from high school and Alyson Beatenhead, Marisa Sajovec, Luke Albertson and Ryan Mahaffey from eight grade.
Annual Diocesan Appeal – We have had a great response for the 2016 Annual Diocesan Appeal. If you have not completed a pledge card, please do so. There are envelopes in the vestibule. Every dollar raised to make our goal supports important diocesan ministries, and every dollar raised over our goal will be kept in the parish. To those who have pledged, thank you!
Diocesan 25th & 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration - If you are celebrating 25 or 50 years of marriage in 2016, notify the parish office. Each couple will receive a personal invitation this summer from the Bishop to attend a Mass on September 25 at 3:30 pm in your honor.
25th Jubilee Celebrations - Fr. Donton – The families of St. Malachy Church and School in Rantoul and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Thomasboro, on behalf of Father Joseph P. Donton, cordially invite you to attend his 25th Anniversary Jubilee Mass on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM in St. Malachy Church. Corpus Christi Eucharist Processions –
- A Eucharist procession will be held at St. Joseph Parish, 303 S. 7th St., Pekin, IL on Sunday, May 29th at 3:00 PM.
- A Eucharist Procession will be held on Sunday, May 29th beginning at 2:00 PM at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, 1175 St. Francis Lane, East Peoria, IL. There will be quiet prayer and Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament after 10:00 AM up to 2:00 PM. Following the procession there will be refreshments in the multipurpose room.
Eureka Food Pantry - May is St. Luke’s month to collect food for the Eureka Food Pantry. The box for donations is under that table that the bulletins are on. Food and monetary donations are welcome. Also, remember to take your reusable bags with you when you shop at IGA. It is great for the environment plus IGA donates five cents to the Eureka food pantry for each reusable bag used which adds up to hundreds of dollars each year.
Summer Institute - Join us as we celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy with a Diocesan Institute on June 4. It is designed to foster a renewed understanding and desire for prayer and the interior life. It will be held on June 4th at the Peoria Civic Center. Our day will include Mass, keynote speakers, breakout sessions, meals, vendors, Adoration and Reconciliation. There is no cost but registrations must be made on line at http://cdop.org/depths-of-mercy/ by Friday, May 27.
Emmaus Days - Emmaus Days is a vocations awareness program sponsored by the Diocese of Peoria. By providing a spiritual, fun environment for young men, we help make them more aware of God’s presence in their lives and get them excited about living their faith. Emmaus Days is full of opportunities to pray and learn. Participants are given the chance to interact with priests, seminarians and others their own age, both in serious spiritual matters and lighthearted activities. Priests and seminarians will reveal their own. Bishop Jenky visits at the end of every session to share a meal, a discussion, a photo opportunity and a Pontifical Mass with the participants. Retreat - St Jude Elizabeth Ministry invites any couple that has experienced any type of pregnancy or early infant loss to a couple's healing retreat on Saturday, June 4 from 9:15 AM – 4:30 PM. Finding Your Fiat Conference - Ladies, you are invited to laugh, engage, worship, and kick your heels off this summer at the Finding Your Fiat Conference, June 24-25 in East Peoria, IL. The weekend includes a Girls' Night Out with hors d'oeuvres, a talk by Blessed Is She founder Jenna Guizar, and a concert by Marie Miller. Saturday's conference includes keynote talks by Jenna Guizar and international speaker Meg Hunter-Kilmer, plus two break-out sessions featuring Nancy Piccione, Nell Alt, Annie Tillberg, Sr. Clara Malay, Laura Fanucci, Colleen Mitchell, and Marie Miller. The talks will guide us to finding our own "Fiat"s ("Yes" to God) through married or single life, careers, hobbies, service, infertility, grief, the everyday, and the extraordinary. St. Jude Run - The Eureka to Peoria St. Jude Run will be on July 30, 2016. Runners from our parish include Reed & Nell McAllister, Marie Lehman, Becky Mathews, and Michelle Monk. Volunteers Needed - Volunteers are needed at the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria food pantry located at 1825 NE Adams on Tuesdays and Thursday's from 9:30-11:30 am. Parishioners and Knights of Columbus are needed to help us feed the hungry in our Diocese. Donations of all foods are also welcome, including gardeners surpluses. Ordination – Everyone is invited to attend the priestly ordination of Michael Pica. It will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 607 NE Madison Ave. Peoria.
20th Annual Race With Your Heart – Heart House and Heartline will have their 2016 Race with your Heart on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Eureka Lake, Eureka IL. There will be a leisurely 2 mile walk around Eureka Lake or you can enter into one of the two challenging and competitive races - 4 mile or 10K. Pre-register by May 11 for $25 and be guaranteed an official race t-shirt, or sign up until race time for $30. Packet pickup will be available Friday, June 10 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.
