The advantage • The Linear Fresnel Collector uses flat mirrors which

follow the sun to concentrate the sunlight in a spot line. Here the heat is transferred to an absorber in order to produce directly saturated steam.

• Different to a system with parabolic collectors the gaps between mirrors are very small and solar radiation losses due to unused are is minimized. Thus the area below the reflectors is well shaded and can for example be used for car park shading.

• The use of standard components aims to reduce not only complexity but also cost of the collector.

• Steel pipes working as the Mirror carrying axe fixed with the main frame by ball bearings.

• Aluminum sheet curved as secondary reflector.

• Flat glass mirrors (net reflective area 3.6 m2 ).

• Cupper pipe working as the receiver (10m ).

• 3 steel rods • 4 Sub rods connected with the 4

axes that carry the mirror's frame.• Main rod that link the sub rods with

the interconnected rod which is fixed with the linear actuator.

• Interconnected rod that transfer the motion from the linear actuator which is connected with the DC servo motor to the sub rods to move the mirrors.

(3) The Conference supports the use of all forms of renewable energy and in particular large scale renewable energy systems, such as solar thermal and wind, in the MENA countries to satisfy their own energy needs as well as to export to European countries. Within this vision, much larger investments are needed to avail the necessary infrastructure for interconnections between Europe and MENA Countries;
