Expected Outcomes:
- aims at enabling low progress pupils to catch up with other
pupils in their classroom.
- Based on research, most SSP pupils should show some
improvement.
- Fewer pupils in the Foundation English Language in the
school system as a whole.
Strategies:
- follow STELLAR curriculum
- Small group teaching (less than 10 pupils)
- 3 times a week, 50 mins each session, after school.
EL Read (Instructional Reading) - A reading programme aims to support pupils in the acquisition of a firm
foundation in reading and comprehension skills critical to their
attainment of academic excellence.
- focus for P1 and P2 is on phonological awareness, word recognition
and fluency.
- is conducted during curriculum time using a reading software called
Moo-o (digital storybook)
Plans for 2015
- Teach pupils to be reflective learners through the use of self
assessment, peer assessment and group assessment.
- Pupils will be able to reflect on their performance and see ways
on how they can improve through the use of feedback via
checklist and rubrics.
- Usage of Moo-O Portfolio, where pupils can also keep a record
of their learning, allowing their teachers and parents a visual
and effective way to monitor their learning .

Develop mathematical concepts such as addition and subtraction of Whole Numbers

• P2 Math Enrichment Programme (during first week of June holidays)
Expectations for Math learning
• Show all steps and workings for solutions clearly
• Write all numbers and units of measurement clearly
• Use ruler to draw lines, colour pencils to shade and model drawing template (where applicable) for every math lesson and during assessments.
• Prompt submission of assignments
• Complete corrections before handing in assigned work
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD
• Check that your child shows workings and answers clearly. • Help to correct untidy or poor handwriting. • Check that corrections are done and parents to sign as acknowledgement periodically (teachers will put a chop in the book) • Set realistic targets for the child and affirm progress made by child. • Be progress-oriented rather than marks-oriented.
• Talk about maths in daily lives (Eg, telling time, sharing a piece of pizza, numbers of cutlery to be used for party, etc)
