OUR HISTORYEstablished in 1927, Ensign motor policies becamea leading Lloyd’s motor underwriting syndicate,specialising in risks such as haulage, coach and bus,as well as other fleet business including private car andan overseas account. In 1999, Ensign purchased TorchUnderwriting and in 2004 was acquired by QBEInsurance Group. We offer a rapid and efficient accident managementservice through Countrywide Accident Assistance Ltd(CAA) Ipswich. This ensures repairs are completed quicklyunder strict cost-control protocols. This generates awealth of valuable management information, includingaverage repair costs and downtime, and allows you totrack your repairs online.

To save your business drivers having to make excess andVAT payments to repairers, we can offer fund-processingarrangements.

Our proactive Third Party Pro Activity approach ensureswe maximise the proportion of innocent parties putthrough the CAA repairer network.

SCENE OF ACCIDENT RECOVERYThrough our partnership with Auto Rescue Logistics, weprovide a nationwide approved recovery agent network.All work is carried out on a fixed pricing system (menuand scenario based) to avoid any risk of overcharging.

All invoices over £500 are accompanied by photographicevidence. No charges are made for vehicles or equipmenton standby – or for specialist equipment available but notactually used in the recovery process.

All invoices clearly define and itemise what equipmentand manpower has been used and for how long. Thishelps separate road risks from goods in transit covers,especially where a load has to be recovered separatelyfrom the vehicle.

This transparent service generates substantial savings inan area of activity that is often overcharged. Our closelymanaged approach reduces the impact of recovery onyour overall claims cost.
