Continuous and dedicated design is needed to obtain strong, light andelegant products. The production of aluminium radiators begins withthe smelting in automated ovens of ingots of aluminium alloy ENAB 46100.The molten aluminium is continually checked and analysed with spe-cialist equipment to guarantee the excellent quality required for Globalradiators.

Page 7: MOTORWAY A4 MILANO - VENICE National road 510 (SS ... - Tulipstulips.bg/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/catalogo-GLOBAL-UK.pdf · GL HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried

The liquid aluminium is passed to waiting furnaces from which theinjection moulding machines are fed automatically.Following stringent checks on thickness and dimensional tolerances, the elements pass to the mechanical section. Here with full automation, the single elements are tapped, preparedand assembled to obtain radiators of required dimensions. Each radia-tor is tested to 9 bar pressure, after which the radiators undergofurther examination before passing into the washing, degreasing andphosphatizing ovens. The final process in the preparation of the radiator is stove enamel-ling.a The first phase in this process is 'anaphoresis', which involves

immersing the entire radiator in a liquid bath so that the radiator istotally protected.

a After drying, the final epoxy powder is applied followed by a firingin the oven at 200° C to guarantee a product which maintains itsaesthetic qualities for all time.

HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried out at "Politecnico" in

Milan, we can guarantee the EN 442 standards certification. The high thermal output

allows less bulky radiators to be installed.

LOWER ENERGY CONSUMPTION This is due to the high thermal conductivity of

aluminium, which heats up rapidly and gives a uniform heat to the environment in a

shorter time.

LONGEvITY Due to the high quality of the material, maximium guarantees can be given

for long life, as illustrated clearly in the automobile and aerospace industries.

In addition, the intensive pre-finishing treatments of ‘anaphoresis’ and epoxy powder

stove enamelling, guarantees that the radiators require no further treatment.

EASE Of INSTALLATION This is possible thanks to the lightness of aluminium granting

greater flexibility and speed of installation.

CERTIfIED QUALITY On April 15th 1994, the ICIM granted the ISO 9001:2000 Quality

System normative to GLOBAL.

GLOBAL radiators have a

ten year guarantee starting

from the date of manufacture.

This guarantee covers the

The GL radiators can be used in all hot water or vapour heating installations up to

110° C with a working pressure up to 600 K Pascal - 6 bar.

They can be installed in systems using iron, copper or thermoplastic pipes.

The highest thermal output can be obtained by mounting the radiators observing

the following distances:

≥ cm 3 from the wall

≥ cm 10 from the floor

≥ cm 5 from the shelf or window-sills

To avoid noise caused by thermal expansion the use of plastic sleeves on the brac-

kets is recommended (artt. 4, 25, 27 or 29 in our catalogue).

In order to avoid problems due to deposit and corrosion in the heating system when

using mixed metals it is recommended that the water pH is checked (preferably

between 6,5 and 8) and to introduce a suitable inhibitive additive (Cillit-HS 23

Combi or another product equal or similar) in a quantity equal 1 litre to every 200

litres of circulating water or according to the manufacturer's instructions.

We recommend the installation of floating automatic or manual air vent valves for

radiators to ensure maximum efficiency.

In order to avoid problems with gases which can be present in the heating system

and to eliminate excessive pressure, we suggest not completely closing the valves.

If it is necessary to isolate one or more radiators from the circuit for protracted

periods it is advisable to install automatic air vent valves on every radiator.

To ensure lasting protection of the finished paint surface radiators must not be

installed in a permanently wet or damp environment.

Small paint imperfections or damage can allow aluminium oxidization that will stain

or destroy the finished surface.

It is advisable not to use abrasive products when cleasing the radiator surface.

GLOBAL radiators have a

ten year guarantee starting

from the date of manufacture.

This guarantee covers the

replacement of those elements

that because of manufacturing

or material defects are not

usable, but only on condition

that installation has been

executed in compliance with

suitable regulations and

correct installation.

GLOBAL has produced alu-

minium radiators since 1971 and

has achieved excellent results in

a sector which requires highly

specialized personnel and tech-

nologically advanced production

equipment.

The MIX model, with its sober

aesthetic and elegant line,

adapts itself to every aspect of

your environment.

HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried out at "Politecnico" in

Milan, we can guarantee the EN 442 standards certification. The high thermal output

allows less bulky radiators to be installed.

LOWER ENERGY CONSUMPTION This is due to the high thermal conductivity of

alumimium, which heats up rapidly and gives a uniform heat to the environment in a

shorter time.

LONGEvITY Due to the high quality of the material, maximum guarantees can be given

for long life, as illustrated clearly in the automobile and aerospace industries. In addition,

the intensive pre-finishing treatments of ‘anaphoresis’ and epoxy powder stove enamelling,

guarantees that the radiators require no further treatment.

EASE Of INSTALLATION This is possible thanks to the lightness of aluminium granting

greater flexibility and speed of installation.

CERTIfIEd QUALITY On April 15th 1994, the ICIM granted ISO 9001:2000 Quality

System normative to GLOBAL.

Page 26: MOTORWAY A4 MILANO - VENICE National road 510 (SS ... - Tulipstulips.bg/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/catalogo-GLOBAL-UK.pdf · GL HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried

The MIX radiators can be used in all hot water or vapour heating installations up to

≥ cm 10 from the shelf or window-sills

To avoid noise caused by thermal expansion the use of plastic sleeves on the brackets

is recommended (artt.

The thermal output is certified by the Institute of engineering “Politecnico” in Milano according to the norm EN 442.

If you need to know a radiator thermal power (P) with different ∆T from ∆T 50° C,use the following characteristic equation: P=Km · ∆Tn

Example for the Iseo 600 model with ∆T = 60° C:P= 0,67518 · 601,34724 = 168 Watt

EN 442

Example of thermal powers readings with different ∆T from ∆T 50° C

The ISEO radiators can be used in all hot water or vapour heating installations up to

≥ cm 10 from the shelf or window-sills

To avoid noise caused by thermal expansion the use of plastic sleeves on the brackets

is recommended (artt. 4, 14, 25, 27 or 29 in our catalogue).

In order to avoid problems due to deposit and corrosion in the heating system when

using mixed metals it is recommended that the water pH is checked (preferably between

6,5 and 8) and to introduce a suitable inhibitive additive (Cillit-HS 23 Combi or another

product equal or similar) in a quantity equal 1 litre to every 200 litres of circulating

water or according to the manufacturer's instructions.

We recommend the installation of floating automatic or manual air vent valves for

radiators to ensure maximum efficiency.

In order to avoid problems with gases which can be present in the heating system and

to eliminate excessive pressure, we suggest not completely closing the valves. If it is

necessary to isolate one or more radiators from the circuit for protracted periods it is

advisable to install automatic air vent valves on every radiator.

To ensure lasting protection of the finished paint surface radiators must not be installed

in a permanently wet or damp environment.

Small paint imperfections or damage can allow aluminium oxidization that will stain

or destroy the finished surface.

It is advisable not to use abrasive products when cleaning the radiator surface.

The Ekos and Ekos Plus radiators can be used in all hot water or vapour

heating installations up to 110° C with a working pressure up to 600 K

Pascal - 6 bar.

They can be installed in systems using iron, copper or thermoplastic pipes.

The highest thermal output can be obtained by mounting the radiators

observing the following distances:

≥ cm 3 from the wall

≥ cm 10 from the floor

≥ cm 10 from the shelf or window-sills

To avoid noise caused by thermal expansion the use of plastic sleeves on the

brackets is recommended (artt. 4, 14, 25, 27 or 29 in our catalogue).

In order to avoid problems due to deposit and corrosion in the heating system

when using mixed metals it is recommended that the water pH is checked

(preferably between 6,5 and 8) and to introduce a suitable inhibitive additive

(Cillit-HS 23 Combi or another product equal or similar) in a quantity equal 1

litre to every 200 litres of circulating water or according to the manufacturer's

instructions.

we recommend the installation of floating automatic or manual air vent

valves for radiators to ensure maximum efficiency.

In order to avoid problems with gases which can be present in the heating

system and to eliminate excessive pressure we suggest not completely closing

the valves.

If it is necessary to isolate one or more radiators from the circuit for protrac-

ted periods it is advisable to install automatic air vent valves on every

radiator.

To ensure lasting protection of the finished paint surface radiators must not be

installed in a permanently wet or damp environment.

Small paint imperfections or damage can allow aluminium oxidization that will

stain or destroy the finished surface.

It is advisable not to use abrasive products when cleasing the radiator

surface.

additional notes for Ekos Plus

Important: if the aluminium radiator EKOS

PLUS is installed with bottom opposite end

connections, it is advisable to insert a diverter

(art. 22) between the first and second

element. The inclusion of the diverter

enhances circulation, thereby guaranteeing

maximum performance of the radiator.

The plugs or reductions (artt. 5 and 6) must

be used only with original 'O-R' gasket (art.

24) alternatively the kit (artt. 44, 47, 49)

can be used.

In the case of assembling more sections the

nipple 1" mm 30 (art. 23) and the 'O-R'

gaskets (art. 24) must be used.

The heat output is certified in according to the norm EN 442.

If you need to know a radiator thermal power (P) with different ∆T from ∆T 50° C,use the following characteristic equation: P=Km · ∆Tn

• The OSCAR radiators can be used in all hot water or vapour heating installations up to

110° C with a working pressure up to 600 K Pascal - 6 bar.

• They can be installed in systems using iron, copper or thermoplastic pipes.

• The highest thermal output can be obtained by mounting the radiators observing the

following distances:

≥ cm 3 from the wall; ≥ cm 10 from the floor; ≥ cm 10 from the shelf or windows-sills

To avoid noise caused by thermal expansion the use of plastic sleeves on the brackets is

recommended (artt. 4, 25, 27 or 29 in our catalogue).

• The plugs or reduction (arrt. 5 and 6) must be used only with original “O-ring” gasket

(art. 24) alternatively the kit (artt. 44, 47, 49) can be used.

• In the case of assembling more sections the nipple 1” mm 30 (art. 23) and “O-ring” gasket

(art. 24) must be used.

• In order to avoid problems due to deposit and corrosion in the heating system when using

mixed metals it is recommended that the water pH is checked (preferably between 6,5 and 8)

and to introduce a suitable inhibitive additive (Cillit-HS 23 Combi or another product equal or

similar) in a quantity equal 1 litre to every 200 litres of circulating water or according to the

manufacturer's instructions.

• We recommend the installation of floating automatic or manual air vent valves for radiators to

ensure maximum efficiency.

• In order to avoid problems with gases which can be present in the heating system and to

eliminate excessive pressure, we suggest not closing completely the valves. If it is necessary

to isolate one or more radiators from the circuit for protracted periods it is advisable to install

automatic air vent valves on every radiator.

• To ensure lasting protection of the finished paint surface radiators must not be installed in a

permanently wet or damp environment.

• Small paint imperfections or damage can allow aluminium oxidization that will stain or destroy

the finished surface.

• It is advisable not to use abrasive products when cleasing the radiator surface.

• The Vetta radiators can be used in all hot water or vapour heatinginstallations up to 110° C with a working pressure of up to1,600 K Pascal - 16 bar.

• They can be installed in systems using iron, copper orthermoplastic pipes.

• In order to protect the heating system against rust and corrosion, it ishighly recommended to check the pH level of the water used(preferably between 6.5 and 8) and to introduce a suitable inhibitiveadditive, Cillit-HS 23 Al or similar, in a quantity equal to 1 litre to every200 litres of water circulating in the system.

• We recommend the installation of automatic or manual air vent valvesfor radiators to ensure maximum efficiency.

• The interceptor valves should not be closed completely in order toprevent excessive pressure from building up in the system. It isrecommended to install automatic air vent valves on each radiatorif it is necessary to isolate one or more radiators from the circuit.

• To ensure lasting protection of the radiators, they should not be storedor installed in humid or damp environments. Paint bubbles on evensmall parts of the radiator could cause the aluminium to oxidise andthe entire painted surface to flake away.

• It is advisable not to use abrasive products when cleaning the radiatorsurface.

• given their particular functions the foreseen thermal output isachieved by using the brackets and plugs included in the packduring the installation phase.

ADDRESSED TO ARCHITECTS, CONSULTANTS, SPECIFIERS ANDCONTRACTORS FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION

In the hope of assisting everybody involved in this business, GLOBAL is delighted tooffer the following information, which is the result of studies and direct experiencesof our engineers in the field of high-quality installations for more than 20 years.

GLOBAL radiators

Fundamental factors in the choice of GL - VIP - MIX - VOX - KLASS - ISEO - EKOS,EKOS PLUS - OSCAR and JUNIOR models. In order to satisfy the large demand of customers' needs including comfort and heateconomy, GLOBAL has extended its radiator production creating various models suchas GL - VIP - MIX - VOX - KLASS - ISEO - EKOS, EKOS PLUS - OSCAR and JUNIOR.The choice of a model is often determined by aesthetic or space reasons.

The GL model design favours air convection towards the central part of theroom.

The VIP model with its sober aesthetic and elegant line, adapts itself to everygenre of environment.

The MIX model thanks to the refined line, can be easily installed in the mostsophisticated places to ensure best comfort.

The VOX model gives avant-garde technology and exclusive design, guaran-teeing the highest output without waste of energy.

The KLASS model: the new concept in styling. Klass combines technology and aesthetics with longevity and high performance.

The ISEO model: exceptional comfort, designed to maximise air convection andflow of heat towards the centre of the room. Energy saving: can be used ininstallations with heat pumps, condensing boilers and other low temperaturesystems.

The EKOS, EKOS PLUS model designed and patented, the first irresistiblyrounded die-cast aluminium radiator.

The OSCAR model a vertical-developed radiator, can be seen as an optimalsolution for space problems.

The JUNIOR model provides both the comfort of a warm bathroom and warmtowels.

Page 61: MOTORWAY A4 MILANO - VENICE National road 510 (SS ... - Tulipstulips.bg/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/catalogo-GLOBAL-UK.pdf · GL HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried

Correct installation for aluminium radiators gl, vip, mix, vox, klass, iseo, ekos, ekos plus, oscar and junior models

All these models can be used in all heating systems using warm waterup to 100° C and with a working pressure up to 600 K Pascal, 6 bar.You can equally install iron, copper or plastic pipes.

The best heat output can be easily reached if during theinstallation a few rules are followed:

GL wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10under window or shelf ≥ cm. 5

VIP wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10under window or shelf ≥ cm. 10

MIX wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10under window or shelf ≥ cm. 10

VOX wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10under window or shelf ≥ cm. 10

KLASS wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10under window or shelf ≥ cm. 10

ISEO wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10under window or shelf ≥ cm. 10

EKOS wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10under window or shelf ≥ cm. 10

EKOS PLUS wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10

OSCAR wall ≥ cm. 3 - floor ≥ cm. 10

JUNIOR wall ≥ cm. 6 (special bracket)floor or bath-rim ≥ cm. 10

Placing the radiators underneath the windows or on external walls isvery important in order to fully enjoy the comfort that warm environ-ments can offer. While designing, this rule should not be under valued. To ensure lasting protection of the finished paint surface radiatorsmust not be installed in a permanently wet or damp environment.Small paint imperfections or damage can allow aluminium oxydisationthat will stain or destroy the finished surface. In any case the Global radiators can be repainted with enamel paintbaking at 60° C about, or with catalytic paint. It is advisable not to use abrasive products when cleaning the radia-tor surface.

Change in the heat output according to the pipe connection

The standard output of a radiator, corresponding to the emission in room test withΔt=50° C is subject to reduction when the pipe connection differs from the traditio-nal one or from the new Modul System with patent n. 1231113 UNIVER valve.Obviously the radiator output varies according to its position and to Δt different from50° C.

DEGREE OF COMFORT OFFERED BY A WARM ENVIRONMENT

As we have already seen, the installation of the radiators must follow particularrules, so as to obtain the maximum output. This can be reached if we connect ithydraulically following the classic hook-up or the new Modul System with the UNIVER

valve. However even if you follow the previously-mentioned rules, this may not be suffi-cient to reach maximum room comfort. The well being feeling in a warm environment is the combination of various factors, such as the inner air temperature, heat loss and the operating temperature. The heat loss, which is the difference of temperature at different levels between floorand ceiling, must be the lowest in order to avoid people having a kind of 'cold feet'feeling, due to the great difference of air temperature between floor and ceiling.

The following situations contribute to reduce the heat loss:

* rational location of horizontal developed radiators, installed in recessesor on external walls to mitigate the negative effects of cold radiation ofwindows and boundary walls

* low operating temperatures of the installation with medium Δt between the water in the radiator and the room air equal or little lower than 50° C.Example:Medium water temperature 70° CMedium air temperature 20° CMedium Δt 50° C

* limited room height, not higher than 3 m, to avoid excessive airstratification, warmer under the ceiling, leading to an increase in loss of heat

The inner room temperature, which is the average of the inner air temperature andthe radiant temperature of walls and windows, gives the degree of well-being for aperson, taking into consideration exchanges, occurring between the person and theroom air for convection and with the walls and windows for radiance.

There is interdependence between convection and radiance to maintain the samecomfort. That is to say that if one increases the other must decrease and vice versa.Having room comfort means that when windows and walls are cold, the inner airtemperature has to be higher to balance the heat exchanges between the personand the things surrounding him.Conversely isolated walls and double glazed windows permit comfort to be reachedeven with a lower inner room temperature, reducing the body heat losses due toradiance.

HEAT OUTPUT IN CONFORMITY WITH EN 442

The heat output of GLOBAL elements, shown in this catalogue, iscertified complying with EN 442 rule to standardize the heat emissionsin the EU.In accordance with this regulation, the nominal heat emission isdetermined in a room test with Δt 50° C.The advantage of this regulation can be summarized as follows:

◊ lower fuel demand for the reduction of passive losses of heat energy from boiler, pipes and heatingappliances.

◊ higher levels of hygiene in warm environments, since the lowtemperature installations permit reduction of the convectiveair flows that circulate dust, bacterium, pollen etc.

◊ reduction of the heat loss in an environment heated with lowtemperature radiators produces improved comfort.

HEAT EMISSION WITH ΔT DIFFERENT FROM 50° C

The variation of heat emission of a radiator with Δt different from 50° Cis determined in the following way:assuming the datum point as the nominal power according to EN 442rule Δt 50° C the result, with the characteristic equation, will be:P = Km · Δt n

Example with Global MIX 600 a Δt = 60°C:P = 0,80314 x 60 1,32266 = 181 Wattwhere P = heat output

Km = Km coefficientn = distinctive coefficient of the heating elementΔt = the resultant of this equation

INSTALLATION WATER

The quality of the filling water of a system is very important for the goodfunctioning and preservation of the same.Experience has shown that the value of the pH must be between 6,5 and 8 withoptimization to 7,3.In all cases purified water must not be used bacauses of the serious damagecaused to all systems. It is useful at this point to remember that, in order topreserve the thermal systems from corrosive or encrusting processes regardingradiators, piping and boilers, legislation body UNI-CTI 8065 foresees the treat-ment of the filling water of systems, without discrimination in aluminium, steeland cast iron. Among the various products to add to system water, under thecited rule UNI, there is a filmed aliphatic poliammina on market with the nameCillit-HS 23 Combi.Important: the Cillit-HS 23 Combi does not leave the protective film on the insi-de of systems if the water in a ring exceeds the speed of 2 m/s.The valves use to float for the automatic vent of gases in the radiators is recom-mended to avoid the stagnation in corrosive aeriform one in the inside of thesystem.

COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN DIFFERENT MATERIALSIN THE HOME INSTALLATION

Designers and installers have often stressed the problem of corrosion betweenthe different materials, which can lead to 'micropile'.This problem, also mentioned in the specific literature, has never been expe-rienced by our engineers in more than 10.000 installations since 1965.The installations are constituted nearly 90% of aluminium radiators, copperpipes and brass valves. In fact the isolating power of gaskets and sealants installed between radiatorsgives reassurance for everybody who has already employed the previously-mentioned materials in the installation and for those who wish to adopt thesame system in future.

Page 66: MOTORWAY A4 MILANO - VENICE National road 510 (SS ... - Tulipstulips.bg/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/catalogo-GLOBAL-UK.pdf · GL HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried

GAS FORMATION AND NOISE IN HEAT INSTALLATIONSEven if a heating installation has been planned following the best techniques andprofessionally installed, it can happen that during use, especially at the beginning, minor problems can emerge, such as the forming of gases inside the componentsor noise in appliances. The causes for these are various. Here is all the necessary information to solve theseproblems (the following practical advice will assist in overcoming these problems).

GAS FORMATIONThere are three main causes for the gas formation in the heating installations.- The first one is due to air introduced during the operation of water filling or re-filling.During heating the dissolved gases split in the boiler, relocating as gas pockets inthe top of the radiators because of the different specific weight. This phenomenonis temporary, in fact it ceases in a short time and it can only reappear if the systemis partially or completely emptied of water. For this reason we suggest not emptyingor removing any of the filling water, unless really necessary.- The second cause is the presence in the installation of organic materials suchas working residual or hemp for hydraulic use, that while decomposing developnatural gas in the upper side of the radiator.Even this trouble is temporary and stops when the material completes its decom-position.- The third cause with a more persistent development of gases is the water qualityand its varying hardness due to regional differences. In fact the water on the wayfrom the atmosphere to the sea absorbs carbon dioxide and mineral substancesfrom rocks and soils in different quantities, without mentioning the variouspollutants produced by humans. When particularly hard water is introduced into the heating installation, it begins toreact with its metallic components, producing chemical and electrochemical processes(corrosion), with varied gas production, especially of hydrogen. This phenomenon can continue for a long time thus damaging the installation, unless the UNI-CTI 8065 rule, which foresees the treatment of filling waters, isobserved. If the previously-mentioned causes are present, the gas mixture vented fromradiators is quantatively composed of:

carbon dioxide CO2nitrogen N2hydrogen H2methane CH4oxygen O2

We can summarise the main gas problems as follows:

◆ noise in the system fluid◆ reduction or interruption of the water circulation in the heating elements◆ insufficient warmth in the environment due to lower output from the

radiators◆ corrosion of various installation components

Page 67: MOTORWAY A4 MILANO - VENICE National road 510 (SS ... - Tulipstulips.bg/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/catalogo-GLOBAL-UK.pdf · GL HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried

Cure

When the causes which produce the gas in the installation are known, theunder-mentioned operations must be followed.

first of all a thorough washing of the installation before the final fillingis necessary. Circulation flushing contributes to remove the residueresponsible for gas production. After a few hours the water must bedrained by opening the draincock.

refill the installation possibly using water with hardness between 12and 14 French degrees and a pH between 6,5 and 8 (do not usesoftened water). When the filling water operation ends, the temperature of the working fluid has to reach 85-90° C, to facilitate the division of the air insolution.

The produced air pockets can be eliminated by venting the radiatorsand circulating pipes with bottle vents and/or automatic air bleedvalves.

If the filling water has degrees of hardness and pH which are different from those recommended, the phenomenon of gas production cancause corrosive processes in the installation and is therefore difficultto eliminate.

Considering impraticable the solution making follow every establishment by alaboratory specialized in the treatment of the water, for evident reasons of prac-ticality and cost, we propose as remedies the following simple interventions thatthe experience has confirmed valid as much:

r as a remedy we suggest installing a floating automatic air vent valve;r add to the filling water the Cillit-HS 23 Combi, or similar inhibitor which

prevents corrosion and gas production;r as a precaution do not completely close the flow and return valves in order

to prevent an excessive build-up of pressure.

Page 68: MOTORWAY A4 MILANO - VENICE National road 510 (SS ... - Tulipstulips.bg/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/catalogo-GLOBAL-UK.pdf · GL HIGH THERMAL OUTPUT In accordance with the tests carried

NOISERadiators are involved when noise in heating appliances occurs. Accuratetests have demonstrated that radiators do not cause the trouble but aresimply the vehicle of noise produced somewhere else. The following listindicates the main causes for poor functioning of the installation and for abadly compensated thermal expansion:a excessive speed of the water producing a noise similar to an open

stopcocka air presence in the upper side of the radiator with the particular noise

of flowing water, due to the incomplete filling of the radiator. These problems do not appear if the delivery pipe connection lies below as used in 'mono pipe installation' or Modul system with UNIVER valve

a the circulation pump of the fluid working outside recommended limitscausing resonance especially in the radiators

a wall brackets out of alignment causing noises similar to metallic blowsduring the heating or cooling phase due to badly compensated thermalexpansion. The noise is transferred from the pipes onto the heatingappliances with the typical 'ticking' reappearing at every thermalvariation. The copper pipes with insulation are noise free.

Cure; The ground noise due to water speed and turbulence on entering the

radiator can be eliminated by working on the regulation valve to correct the water delivery as projected. However if the noise continues, it ispossible to solve the problem with a diam. 18 mm diverter directlyconnected to the entrance valve of the radiator in order to convey thewater to the next element of the radiator.

; The noise caused by the air presence in the radiator can be eliminated by installing a floating automatic air vent valve.

; The resonance of the circulation pump disappears by adjusting thepump head or revolutions (see instruction booklet). In some cases it isnecessary to install an expansion joint between pump and pipes.

; The noise of thermal expansion can be eliminated by covering thebracket with a rubber sheath.

; To avoid noise in expanding pipes, it is necessary to use pipes fitted with insulating sleeves.

We hope that these brief notes will be of use in the solution of problemsconnected to modern systems, and will contribute to a wider knowledgeand use of aluminium radiators.
