Thank you for your stewardship and support of District Ministries. We are able to accomplish much in

God’s name thanks to your keeping up-to-date on church fair-share apportionment. This snapshot,

Featured Missional Hub!

Spreading the story of Christmas through an

outdoor drama brings light to a community.

The sound of Christmas will fill the air on two December nights in the village nativity, near Dandridge, Tennessee. Each year, community churches of Sandy Ridge work together to present an outdoor drama about Christ’s birth. On the grounds of Hills Union UMC, sister churches McCampbell’s Chapel

UMC, New Beginning Church of God, Mullins Chapel Baptist Church, and Muddy Creek Freeewill Baptist Church come together in Christian love to prepare this gift to the community. The live event will feature over 60 costumed actors portraying the events leading up to the birth of Jesus. Live animals

roam the village and can be experienced up close at the stables. The Village Nativity is presented free to all attendees. On Friday, December 7, it can be experienced as a walk-through; on Saturday, December 8, it can be experienced as a drive-through. The sound of Christmas will fill the air both nights from 6 pm until 8 pm and on Friday evening, hot beverages will be served. Hills Union UMC is located at Hills Chapel Road in Dandridge. For more information, call 865-397-1833.

Spotlight on Youth The winner for this year's Festival of Gifts and Talents for the Mountain View District is Ainsley Murrow! Ainsley performed the song, "Reckless Love" and blew the audience away with her beautiful and heartfelt voice. Ainsley is a freshman at Jefferson County High School and is very involved with her church at First United Methodist

of Morristown. She has been singing ever since she was little and loves to lead worship on Sundays on occasion. She hopes she can one day use her God-given talent to help people fall in love with God. Wish her the best as she goes on to perform at REZ'19!

Activities! Let’s have some creative fun. As the Holy Family

prepares for the birth of Jesus, imagine the

conversations and caption the pictures.

The Holston Annual Conference is now partnering with a generous supporter to offer a safety net for retired ministers when they or their spouses encounter a health crisis. Most of our ministers work sacrificially and do not earn the money others in the private sector earn over a lifetime. Often, after retirement, our retirees have small savings and few resources to help in the case of a crisis situation. We desperately do not want this to happen to our faithful servants and to be sure they are taken care of honorably in their sunset years.

The Shepherd’s Fund was founded to help retired or disabled pastors and/or their spouses (or widows/widowers) who have health issues for which they can’t afford treatment or the financial impact of treatment may affect their ability to provide for themselves. Retired/disabled pastors (or family member) may be referred to the district office to receive an application.
