Little Hawks since 1959!
This year- our last year in our 1959 building.
2017/2018 - at the Former Woodway Elementary
2018/2019 – we return to our new school on this site!
Next Year- Woodway Elementary
All students and staff will move to Woodway for the year.
We will have a great year of learning!
Bus transportation will be provided to ALL students.
Our community is the people, not the building.
While we’re there, our new school will be built!
New school opens Fall, 2018.

• We will hold an additional Kick Off information meeting on May 10th at
11:45 am in our school library.
• This is for families who were not able to make the February 13th date.

August – we you to apply, even if you don’t think your child will be eating school lunch.

Your Registration is Complete When…• Your recent proof of residency is shown to the school
• A copy of the registered birth certificate is on file
• We verify that Part 1 of the packet is filled out completely
• Your child has received all of the required immunizations
• We will follow-up if you are missing any of this information:• A conditional date of registration is assigned when an incomplete
packet is turned in – a new date will be assigned if information is not completed by August 20
• Sometimes an earlier registration date is important if classes become overfull
Other Info about Registration
First date to turn in packets is March 1 – our registration hours are 10:30am – 2:30pm daily
• Entrance age – your child must be five years old by August 31, 2017
• Transfer enrollment• Enrollment is limited to students who live within a
school’s attendance area• Please register at your assigned school

During the Summer….Jump Start!
Jump Start for KindergartenAugust 21-25, 2017 – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Jump Start is a transitional program that helps children prepare to enter school in September. During Jump Start kids are involved in typical classroom activities, take a school tour, and have outdoor play, just like recess!
• Jump Start is a fun, positive experience that familiarizes your child with the school, teachers, and daily schedule before school actually begins
• There is no charge for Jump Start, which is open to all incoming kindergarten students in our District
• Parents will be asked to attend a meeting on the first day of Jump Start on August 21
Other Important Items• Supply lists will be available at the parent Jumpstart meeting, in the
office, and will be posted on our school website
• Your Kindergarten classroom assignments will be posted on the last day of Jump Start, before class. Your child will spend this day with their new class. (All other grades receive placement via email on Sept. 1st.)
• Family Connection Meeting: Parents (and students) will meet with their student’s kindergarten teacher on one of the first three scheduled days of school (September 6, 7 or 8)
• Delayed Start for Kindergarten: Kindergarten students do not start school until the 4th scheduled day of the school year, which is scheduled for September 11 (students in grades 1-6 will start on September 6)
Our Family / School Partnership
• Attend school functions such as curriculum night, math/reading nights, parent-teacher conferences, parent club meetings
• VOLUNTEER in your child’s classroom or at school
• Read and respond to requested information from the school
• Check Skyward for updated student information and to update family contact information
• Our hope and expectation is that kindergarten will be a positive and enriching experience for your child!
• We are a TEAM and always want to hear from you about ways we can best help your child succeed
Homework for ParentsBefore March 1:• Registration Packet: Complete as much of the packet as you can
before coming in to register
• Birth Certificate: Locate/order your child’s state-issued registered birth certificate
• Immunizations: Make appointment with your pediatrician to obtain any outstanding immunizations
• Proof of Residency: Make sure you have a recent (within 30 days) proof to bring with you
• Emergency Contacts: Have the names/phone numbers of at least 3 individuals handy
