Mousedeer Mousedeer on the 3 different science aspects: Physics Chemistry Biology Mousedeer on the values aspects Mousedeer on the national education aspects
Overview of presentation
Known as chevrotains which means “little
goat” in French Solitary or live in pairs Eat only plant materials Neither a mouse nor a deer Extant species can be found in South &
Southeast Asia forest while the single can be found in the rainforests of Central
& West Africa
The Animal(Mousedeer)
Males have a pair of enlarged canines >>
extend down from their upper jaw Head to body length of the adult mousedeer is
50 to 60cm while the young ones measures 40 to 50cm
The young mousedeer has white stripe on the two sides of the triangular pattern that runs down the chin and throat is continuous
Whereas the adults’ stripes are broken and/or uneven
Science Aspects (Physics)
Was hunted for its meat Was softer than venison Was made into dendeng which means spiced,
dried meat in Malay Hunting ended on 27 June 1947 as the Wild
Animals and Birds Protection Order was gazetted
Science Aspects (Chemistry)
Have four-chambered stomachs Third chamber is not so well-developed Frugivorous Like other ruminants, they lack upper incisor All species depend on the retention for their survival Pregnancy of five to six months Young become full adults in just 5 months Young give birth to usually a single fawn which is weaned in about 3 months
Science Aspects (Biology)
Values Aspects
Clumsy
Short, thin legs Allows their
predators to catch up with them when hunting
Intelligent
Intelligent according to a malay folklore
Follow behind monkeys during meal times to pick up leftover fruit & leafy tidbits that the animal leaves behind
National Educational Aspects
Defense Mechanisms
Mark the ground at intervals
Mark trees Males fight when they
encounter each other >> using two sharp enlarged teeth on upper jaw as weapons
Females inhabit a specific territory, which they defend against strange individuals
Adaptations
Come from diverse habitats, ranging from equatorial to subarctic and from moist rainforest to arid savannah
Are adapted to some environmental conditions

Question 4
Question: Name two predators of the mousedeers that were being stated during the presentation.

Question 5
We learnt a lot of things during our trip to the zoo. - Jengshiu
Not only science, we also have different things conducted or taught in our Maths, Art and English lessons. - Joey Other than learning new things, we also have learnt the true meaning of teamwork and bonding. - Nat
It was extremely hard to do things if 100% cooperation from our team mates were not given. - Jannah
We really learnt a lot of things and that explains why we have come up with a powerpoint slides that are easy to understand and knowledgeable. - Cheryl
