What is the Deploy Tool?• The Deploy Tool is used to complete the MoversSuite

upgrades.• It can also be used to reload the standard reports, queue

service, and document viewer service.• The Deploy Tool has been enhanced to simplify the

upgrade process.• It uses the MMC(Microsoft Management Console) to load

in the snap-in.• Part of the upgrade process is to install the snap-in for

the Deploy Tool.

Steps prior to the upgrade• There are a few steps that need to be taken prior to

using the deploy tool.• Stop all services related to MoversSuite.• Verify all users are out of the database.• Restrict the database. This keeps from anyone being able to

login during the upgrade, or for services to accidently connect.

• It will make a backup of the database, upgrade the database, deploy the standard reports and apply the new license key for the product.

• The external interface is what

allows us to upload/download information from MoversSuite to Third Parties. • For Unigroup – upload only,

queues handle the download• TechMate – upload & download• SIRVA – upload & download,

there are no queues

• The Deploy Document API is the service for the Document Viewer in MoversSuite. • Through this piece TransDocs

and PSI:Capture settings can be made.

• If associated with a VanLine that uses queues, the queuing service will need to be installed.

• The final step in the Deploy Tool is to install MoversSuite.

After the upgrade• Take database out of restricted user mode• Place a copy of the MoversSuite client install into a

shared folder for access• Start the services. Verify they are working.• Test MoversSuite • Apply custom code, if needed for GP installs• Update terminal servers/client installs
