FLAG The flag of Mozambique consists of three equal width horizontal stripes - the top stripe is green; the middle one black; and the bottom stripe is yellow. The black stripe is bordered above and below by a thin white stripe. On the left side of the Mozambique flag is a red horizontal triangle pointing towards the flag's center. In the center of triangle is a yellow, five-point star which has a part of the country's coat of arms in it. The emblem consists of a rifle and a hoe crossed over an open book.

Outdoor activitiesMozambique Parks: Game Viewing

Birding is excellent with Inhaca Island boasting over 200 species. The bird life on the islands is good but the real birding is in Mozambique's parks and reserves where some of southern Africa's best birding is to be found.

Mozambique Islands: Diving and FishingMozambique holidays are famous for their excellent diving spots - try the Inhambane area or the tropical islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago or Quirimbas Archipelago where some of Africa's most pristine reefs can be found and you may find yourself swimming with whale sharks, dugongs or manta rays.

Deep sea fishing is offered from Inhaca Island, the Bazaruto Archipelago and the Quirimbas Archipelago, although many other beach resorts offer surf fishing.

You do not need a 4-wheel drive vehicle in ‘Moz’, but it could help. I rented a small car in South Africa and drove over. The roads/highways vary between brand new and in good shape to dirt only. Often the road end without warning.

by train from South Africa/Johannesburg. The Shongololo Express originates in South Africa.

Buses only operate between major towns where roads are in good condition. I would not advise to use this

Flight:From Europe to Mozambique, the only direct flight to Maputo is from Portugal - Lisboa
