LOGO EVOLUTION

The refined logo and mark represents a move to a more approachable and contemporary look. A look that will carry Minneapolis Chamber forward in the years to come while retaining all the brand equity built in the past. This solution aims to solve three issues:

ConsistencyThe change in typeface and color, along with other style and design elements, plays a large role in the process of building an instantly recognizable brand that looks consistent across all mediums.

ScalabilityThe re-crafted logo is provided as optimized for all applications. The Minneaplis Chamber name has increased prominence and legibility.

IntegrationThe new logo integrates better on light backgrounds, at large and small sizes keeping the Chamber name still highly visible.

COLOR USAGE

Brands and color are inextricably linked because color offers an instantaneous method for conveying meaning and message without words.

Color is the visual component people remem-ber most about a brand followed closely by shapes/symbols then numbers and finally words.

Minneapolis Chamber’s blue is a vital part of the visual identity and branding and therefore, it should always be respected and used properly across all mediums.

FONTS

The Chamber name and divisions use the Gotham Book font. Other uniquely branded materials such as business cards, letterhead and stationery may also use Gotham Bold.

Gotham Book is a sturdy, low contrast, geo-metric, highly legible sans serif typeface very well suited for any display and text use.

CLEAR SPACE

Always surround the Chamber logo with the amount of clear space shown to ensure that the logo is easily identifiable as well as visible and legible wherever it appears.

Clear space is the minimum “breathing room” maintained around the logo. It also defines the minimum distance between the logo and the edge of a printed piece. The clear space around the logo is equal to the height of the MPLS “M” in the Chamber logo. Do not position any text, graphic elements, or other visual marks inside the recommended clear space.

Please note that this distance may sometimes be adjusted for select online or print applica-tions where space is limited.

MINIMUM SIZES

Scaling the Chamber logoEPS logo files may be scaled to any size necessary for the application, as long as the minimum size requirements are met.

Minimum sizeMinimum size refers to the smallest allowable logo size. Scale and proportion should be determined by the available space, aesthetics, function and visibility. There is no preset maximum size for the logo. The logo is available as an EPS logo file and can be scaled down to a minimum size of 0.685” high for print related purposes. For Web uses, the minimum height of the logo is 65 pixels.

LOGO MISUSE

Ensure that the Camber logo is clearly recog-nizable by using it properly. Do not alter it under any circumstances. Consider the logo version and the background it is placed on to provide the best legibility. The examples to the right show various uses to avoid.
