THE MISSIONThe Romanian Society of Mathematics is one of the oldest professional organisations in Romania as well as Europe.

Our Society’s mission is to promote and spread Mathematics as a science, to encourage and support scientific research in Mathematics, as well as to increase students’ interest and knowledge in this subject.

 In order to achieve its mission, The Romanian Society of Mathematics:

• acts as representative for the Community of mathematicians in dealing with local authorities to achieve its aims; • stands for the social and professional rights of its members;• foster an awareness and appreciation of mathematics and its connections to other disciplines and everyday life. • support mathematical education at all levels, • publishes “The Mathematics Gazette” magazine, other informative and educational books, leaflets, etc.• coordinates and participates in internationally and nationally fund granted projects • Organizes training activities and scientific events (conferences, seminars, etc.)

  In order to achieve its goals, The Romanian Society of Mathematics:

- Organises contests and competitions;- Offers prizes and awards;- Organises activity in specialised departments in schools and universities;- Takes part in organising libraries, educational and research centres;- Cooperates with other similar national and foreign scientific societies and institutions.

The BOTOSANI Subsidiary of The ROMANIAN SOCIETY OF MATHEMATICS

- organises math contests and competitions, training centres and camps for gifted students; - has an active role in organising the Math School Olympiad at different levels; - organises national and local conferences and symposiums.
