Today, Technical Education (TE) is the unified knowledge of technology, management, craft and art with the
backbone of applied science and mathematics. Therefore, it has seen the evolutionary change compatible with the stneeds and demands of 21st Century. TE in 21 century specifically known as knowledge age requires the curriculum
with the potential to nurture skills viz. problem solving, self learning, creativity, innovation, design thinking,
decision making to meet the challenges of Global society. Moreover, lifelong learning, engagement and balance out
the personal, professional and social life can be the prime concern of TE. It can be achieved by developing active
research culture in the educational campus and sharing of research outcomes at various research forums to bring
the visibility in an actual world. To strengthen this culture, the institute can facilitate the extensions to encourage
research oriented learning activities like ABL, PBL and TBL. It is an opportunity for institute to develop networking
with well-known research laboratories and renowned national and international institutes. With active
participation of stakeholders, research dimensions can be enhanced. Furthermore, institutes can create avenues for
developing research culture and become self-reliant. The outcome of the research will be utilized for strengthening
the institutional curriculum, campus Research and Development and industry linkages. This will lead to enhanced
job opportunities and promotion of self-employment among potential graduates. The active research culture can
be brought by involving all stakeholders particularly researchers, scholars, faculty and budding technocrats.
To broaden the perspectives of research culture, Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET) has
envisaged in providing a common platform in the form of conferences and workshops. Hence, in 2010 the first
edition of conference, ICWET started its journey to provide research aptitude among all stakeholders. Being a
yearly event since 2010, the conference expanded its dimensions in the year 2013 with its second edition,
Multicon-W with an objective to meet the plethora of domain expectations. In the current year, TCET is hosting
10th conference in a row and has planned four conferences and three workshops under Multicon-W2019. During
the long journey of one decade of Multicon-W, we have seen the growth of participation from outside India to make
it widely known among the researchers and technocrats. The current year conference is committed to build and
increase the trust and belief further in the upcoming years. Around 3000 participants and delegates are expected to
attend the two days' programme. Research and technical papers are to be published in the conference and
Multicon-W proceedings. Workshops will be conducted intending to promote ABL, PBL and TBL based education.
TCET is also going to assist the authors to publish their papers in UGC approved journals through Multicon-W
platform.
