A: Adventures

I enjoy going on adventures. To me, this means travelling to new places, hiking, boating, white water rafting, camping, etc. When I was in college I travelled to Peru for three weeks with only a backpack full of stuff. My group did construction and spent time hiking through the Inca ruins. I love to do stuff like that!

B- Books

Since I was a little kid I have loved books. I would curl up under my favorite tree in the summer and read for hours. I love to find new book series and devour stories. I get my love of reading from my mom; to this day, we still exchange books and enjoy talking about our newest finds.

C- Chips and Salsa

My favorite snack is chips and salsa. I am on a quest to find the best salsa around here. So far I haven’t been very impressed with what is available. I do like the salsa at Gutierrez though! It is nice and spicy.

D- Disneyland

I love all things Disney! I have been to both Disneyland and Disneyworld. The next place I want to go is on a Disney Cruise. When my son is a little older we will probably make a trip.

E- Education

Education is something that is very important to me. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, focusing on English and Art. I also have two Master’s Degrees; one is in Education and Literacy, and the other is in Teaching and Learning with Technology. One day I would like to earn my Doctorate in Education.

F- Fair

One of my favorite yearly events is the Western Idaho Fair. It is two weeks of rides, vendors, art/baking/gardening/canning competitions, livestock shows, concerts, etc. My family goes together every year and it was always the last “summer” thing we did before we went back to school in the fall. I hate missing it.

G- Glasses

Since I was a little kid I have had horrible eyesight. I started wearing glasses when I was 10, and then got contacts when I was 15. I wear them every day; without them I would run into things and have a headache from squinting my eyes. I wear daily contacts so that I can just throw them away at the end of the day and have no excuse to ever sleep in them.

H- Hair

One of my favorite things about myself is my hair. It is very long, and after many hours at the salon, it is a pale blonde color. Sometimes I use too much purple shampoo and it starts to look lavender. It is wavy, but easy to straighten when I am not feeling too lazy.

I- Idaho

I was born and raised in Nampa, Idaho. I went to school in Moscow, Idaho, and then spent six and a half years in Mountain Home, Idaho. It is my favorite place on earth, because my family lives there and it is very diverse when it comes to nature. North Idaho is full of rolling hills and lakes. The middle part of it is full of mountains and sprawling valleys. Southern Idaho is all deserts and farms.

J- Jon and Jackson

My husband’s name is Jon and my son’s name is Jackson. They are my two favorite people in the entire world. I would rather spend time with them than anyone else. Jackson is funny, sweet and can also be a holy terror.

K- Kites

Kites make me think of the Oregon Coast. Every August, my family would take a weeklong trip to Lincoln City, Oregon. We would play on the beach, fly kites, eat clam chowder at Mo’s every night for dinner, and get the best salt water taffy in all the land.

L- Loops

I love rollercoasters, especially ones with lots of loops. I like when they go fast, and drop suddenly. My older brother Erik and I always ride them together. We even tricked our mom, who hates them, into going on one of the scariest ones at Busch Gardens.

M- Makeup

I have an unhealthy obsession with makeup and skincare. I spend way too much money on it! I sell Arbonne, which is my favorite brand, mostly because I get a great discount on the products.

N- Naps

Naps are one of my favorite activities. When I was a kid I never wanted to nap. I hated them! Now that I am older and don’t have to nap, I really love them. On the weekends I try to get one in every day.

O- “Outrageous”

As embarrassing as it is to admit, I love Britney Spears. I have liked her music (hidden, of course) since I was in the 5th grade. Every time I go to Las Vegas I want to go see her, but she is never performing. I am even going in April 2017 and she won’t be performing! I turn 30 in the fall, so I am going to make a special trip to celebrate my birthday and see her.

P- Pizza

Pizza is one of my favorite foods, and is my best friend Jade’s favorite foods. We always eat it when we hang out. She once almost burnt down my house when she was baking a pizza.

Q- Quarters

My grandpa and I have always been really close. One of the things that we do together is collect coins. I have a collection of many coins, but the coolest ones I have are a set of state quarters. I have ten dollars of each state in mint condition. I can’t wait to pass them on to my son one day.

R- Rodeos

I grew up on a farm, across from a huge dairy. I also grew up going to rodeos and raising cows. I love to go to rodeos to this day and I always wished I could be a cowgirl. At the rodeo near my parents’ house, they have a drill team of cowgirls and horses that wear special lit up clothes and bridles, and then they perform in complete darkness. It is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

S- Seattle

Besides Idaho, Seattle, Washington is my favorite place. It is beautiful, has great weather, awesome people, delicious food, and a lot to do. My family likes to go there for sports and just to visit. I have a lot of great memories there.

T- Tattoos

I love tattoos! I have eight of them, all with different meanings. My favorite one is on my shoulder. It says “all my love, all my life” and has my son’s birthday in Roman Numerals. It is very pretty, but it also means a lot to me.

U- Umbrella

My favorite type of weather is when it is warm but rainy. I love when there are loud thunderstorms. My son and I stay up and watch the lightning; his face lights up when he sees it. I love rain, but I am never prepared for it. I don’t even own an umbrella.

V- Vandals

I am an Idaho Vandal. I went to the University of Idaho for my Bachelor’s Degree. I was in a sorority and made friends that I am still close with to this day. We had a lot of fun during our time in college, and I really miss those times with my friends.

W- Winter

One thing that I miss since I moved to Texas is real winter. I miss seeing snow fall, driving up into the mountains to see the white fluff on the pine trees, and sitting by the fire when it is cold outside. Idaho has some beautiful winters, with lots of snow and freezing temperatures.

X- Xerox

The Xerox machine is my mortal enemy. When I need it to work, it never does. When I am in a hurry, it always jams. When I need large packets stapled, it is out of staples. I hate you, Xerox machine.

Y- Yellowstone

One of my favorite family trips was to Yellowstone. The spring after I got married, my parents, husband, brothers, their wives/girlfriends and the kids all went to Yellowstone. We got to see Old Faithful, bison, the “hot pots” and just spend some great time together.

Z- Zoos

One of my favorite things to do is go to the zoo. I have a yearlong family pass to the Oklahoma Zoo. I love to see the animals, and watch my son’s face light up. We always have a good time together as a family.
