Read 180/System 44Reading Intervention Program

• Read 180

• Focuses on reading comprehension, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and writing

• Computer Based Program – should be completed at least 3 times a week for 25 – 30 minutes.

• May be assigned as homework and requires speaker access (headphones with a mic)

• Best on Google Chrome

• Focuses on phonics, decoding, high frequency sight word recognition, spelling, fluency, and vocabulary

Agendas

• Students will write Classwork and Homework in their agendas every day.

• You will need to check agenda weekly and sign by Friday.

• I will check for completion and parent signature on Mondays. Completion and parent signature counts as a grade.

Parent portal

• I encourage you to check the Aeries parent portal every few weeks to monitor your student’s grades. I will do my best to update the portal weekly.

• If your student is missing an assignment, he/she may turn it in late for a grade before the progress report or report card period ends. After that time period, late assignments will not be accepted.

Google Classroom

All assignments will be posted on google classroom and students must submit their finished work through google classroom.

Distance Learning

Expectations and Norms

Before entering the google meet: Mute your microphone and make sure your camera is ON. Your camera will stay on for the whole period.Mute

Show up at the correct time, dressed appropriately, and stay in the Google Meet for the entire time.Show up

Find a quiet place away from distractions such as siblings, pets, TVs, cell phones, etc.Find

Grading scale

Classwork and Homework = 30%

Tests, Quizzes, Essays, and Projects = 40%

Read 180/System 44 Participation = 25%

Agenda Checks (weekly) = 5%

Homework and

absent work

• Homework is given throughout the week, except on Fridays. Homework will be based on classroom lessons/discussions

• The student is responsible for getting absent work.

• Use supplies/materials in an appropriate manner

• Try your best and ask for help if you need it

• Use kinds words (swearing will not be tolerated)
