• Tardy Assignment Slip- You will receive an assignment of my choosing to complete and turn in the following class on time. Failure to not turn in the assignment will lead to a zero in the grade book. FYI: Turning in the assignment will not result in a grade boost.

• Sit in your assigned seat, get quiet, and read the board before asking any questions.

• Pay attention to any/all directions.

• Do not ask to borrow. Bring your own materials.

• Do not put your head down on your desk, sleep, snore, or give the appearance of sleeping.

• Turn in assignments when directed to do so. Late work: 1 letter grade per day. No late work will be accepted after five school days except for unusual cases. It is the student’s responsibility to speak to the instructor as soon as possible about such exceptions

• Do not copy anyone else’s work or allow anyone to copy yours. RESULT: ZEROES for the copier and the one whose work is copied.

• Plagiarism (compositions, stories, essays, reports, etc.) is classified as academic dishonesty. See the Code of Conduct.

CLASSROOM RULES • Hall passes will be limited. Those who

abuse the privilege will not get passes. Honestly, I prefer you go to the restroom

before class.

• Remain seated at the end of class even if the dismissal bell rings.

“The bell does not dismiss you I do.”

Be respectful and cooperative. Do not tamper with classroom equipment—

including student desks, file cabinets, computer, pencil sharpeners, teacher’s desk/chair, book cases, etc.—or with other students’ belongings. Do not touch the Smart Board unless directed to do so.

If any problem arises with another student(s), let the me know so that the problem can be dealt with appropriately as soon as possible.

First and last name, current date, and block number and the type of assignment.

NOTE: For the first two weeks, five points off for each missing item; after two weeks: ten points off.

After four weeks, work without the required information will not be accepted or graded.

SPECIAL NOTES: Some assignments will not be accepted late. If this is the case, you will be notified in advance.

When you have a composition or project that must be typed, check to be sure your printer works and has ink! Save the work in more than one place. If you develop last minute printer problems, create an attachment and email it to me at:

[email protected] In addition, you should bring in a disk or CD containing the

work in case your email does not arrive, or there is a problem with opening it.

Excused absences: work may be made up. Unexcused tardy’s and absences: work may NOT be made up.

  Excused Absences: Ask for makeup work when you return;

arrange to make up quizzes or tests. Work due on the day of absence should be turned in on the day of return. Quizzes and tests should be made up within one week. Special arrangements will be made in the case of extended absences or unusual circumstances.

  Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences and tardies result

in zeroes for all homework, class work, quizzes, tests, and projects that are due, completed in class, or assigned on that day. See Code of Conduct regarding short suspensions.

  SPECIAL NOTE: After the tenth absence, all absences

thereafter are unexcused unless you turn in a doctor’s note to the office each time you are absent.

Whining and/or complaining, especially about class work and assignments

Behaving badly when a substitute is present

(You should be absolutely angelic regardless of who the substitute is.)Failure to follow directions Harassing or picking on other students;

treating anyone inappropriately (No Bullying Policy)

Attempting to do absolutely nothing.

Each group is responsible for cleaning up the debris around their group.

All materials must be put back in their appropriate place.

All desks must be arranged exactly the way that they are supposed to be in.

Everyone must be seated in his or her appropriate desk.

Failure to do any of these things will result in delay of dismal for that group until the all the tasks have been completed.

All class work and homework will be placed on the back shelf according to period.

Every group has materials allotted for group use.

Dictionaries are located on the shelf in the back.

Common board configurations for class has all important information for the day and or week. (Make sure if we have visitors that you are up to date on the board in order to answer questions asked of you.)
