Conjunction is a word that joins words, groups of words, or sentences.

Examples of conjunctions: and, or, but, nor, yet, and so

A Subordinating conjunction is a word that joins groups of words, or sentences that depend on each other for meaning.

Examples of subordinating conjunctions: as, before, until, when, whenever, although, after, because, if, though, since, whenever, or whether.

Combine the two sentences using a subordinate

conjunction.

1. It rains. We plan to hike in the mountains.

4. Irony is when something is the opposite of what you expect. The Lion wants courage; the Tin Man wants a heart; the Scarecrow wants a brain. What is ironic about each of these characters’ wishes?
