Tiller head and controlsThe tiller head is designed for operatorcomfort featuring an ergonomic shapedhandle with angled grips and integralhand guard. Large dimensioned, loweffort butterfly buttons control directionof travel and speed as well as theelectromagnetic brake. All controls areaccessible without having to lift the handfrom the handle. Dual lift and lowerbuttons are located on the tiller head andcan be readily accessed for left or righthand use. The travel direction inverterbutton is designed for maximum angle ofcontact with the operator’s body. Whenactivated, the direction of travel isautomatically reversed and the truckcomes to a stop. The horn is located ontop of the tiller head actuated by thumbor forefinger. The creep speed controlallows the truck to be operated with thetiller arm in the vertical position atreduced speed for manoeuvring in tightconfines. 4 preset performance settingsprovide different performance levels forforward and reverse travel speeds,reverse current braking, release braking,lift speed and acceleration, easilyselectable to suit driver preference.The tiller arm is spring assisted andreturns automatically to the verticalposition when released.Instrumentation The pallet truck’s dashboard features amulti-function indicator displayinginformation on the status of the truckand alarm conditions should they occur.The most important operationalinformation includes the batterydischarge indicator, odometer andperformance level. The red mushroombutton can be pressed to stop the pallettruck immediately in case of emergency.Operator PlatformThe large operator platform allows theoperator to find their own comfortabledriving position. Foldable side arms arehigh relative to the level of the platform,providing the operator with maximumcomfort and stability when manoeuvring.The “man on board” sensor integratedinto the platform prevents truckoperation with no operator present. Optional rear access and side accessfixed protection types are available andare particularly suitable for shuttleactivity over medium to long distances.The top casing has compartments forstationery and other small objects withan optional A4 reading stand.
Power-assisted steeringThe electric motor completely eliminatessteering effort, making the truck light andeasy to steer in all working situations.The power steering reacts so quicklythat there is no loss of performancecompared to manual steering.Mechanical steering is standard on theMS12X model.Frame and forks The frame is made of electro-weldedsheets, surface treated and varnishedwith a 2-pack epoxy paint. The overallchassis width of 860mm makes the trucksuitable for manoeuvring in thenarrowest aisles. Standard forks are 65mm thick, andhave a low profile option of 55mm toallow the loading/unloading of non-standardised loads. The robust forkstructure is made with two solidlongitudinal members covered with aclosing and reinforcing sheet. The ILversions ends of the forks are equippedwith entry rollers to enhance thehandling of bottom boarded pallets.Initial Lift (option) and liftThe initial lift increases the distance fromthe ground, allowing transfer on irregularsurfaces, loading levels and ramps. Thelift/lower control is provided by twoproportional push buttons located to theleft of the tiller. The adjustable pull rodsgive uniform lifting and loweringmovement of the forks. The loadingrollers are tandem HD (Heavy Duty) withlubrication points and sealed bearings.Speed is automatically reduced withload arms raised and traction isautomatically cut when the forks areraised >1.5m (h3). BatteryThe battery compartment takes a batteryof up to 24V - 345 Ah capacity, which,together with the characteristics of thetraction motor, allows considerableflexibility in operation. A vertical batteryextraction option is available.Rollers and wheelsAll wheels are made from Vulkollan™.Tandem load wheels are standard, andtandem load wheels with twinned rollersand a fruit version are available asoptions. An optional suspensionmounted castor enhances driveabilityand stability on imperfect flooring.Electric motorsThe AC 4 Kw drive motor gives instantresponse to forward and reverse tractioninputs, providing considerable torque.
The maintenance free motor (inspectionintervals required every 1000 operatinghours) provides low cost long operativelife. The servo-steering with brushlesstype DC motor with permanent magnetsis maintenance free and incorporates theelectronic control system. The DCcompound 3kw lifting motor providespower in excess of the truck’s operativerequirements. Traction – steering unit The cast-iron gear train has helicoidalgears running immersed in an oil bath.The steering reduction is calculated toprovide maximum performance in everyworking situation. The motor is mountedvertically for efficient ventilation and toeliminate flexing stresses to the powercables to ensure reduced downtime. Thesteering is effected by gears, amaintenance and regulation-free systembased on higher specification modelsHydraulic unitThe silent, powerful hydraulic pump,activated by the electric motor, is ofdouble gear type. The transparent tankfacilitates checking of the hydraulic oillevel. Lowering is controlled by asolenoid valve activated directly by thetiller pushbuttons.Electronic controlsThe Combi MOSFET controller managesboth the AC traction engine and the DClifting motor and reduces the need forelectrical contactors. Its high energyefficiency and high motor performanceallow considerable hourly usage inoperation, reducing battery charging.The combined characteristics of thetraction motor and the control panelenhance efficiency of release andinversion braking, without reduction ofautonomy, leaving the electromagneticbrake for parking and emergencies only.Electronic parameters are easilycustomised by a service technician. Theoperator can choose between 4 pre-setperformance levels.Options
