General information
Multan was conquered by Alexander The Great in 326 BC.
Muhammad bin Qasim the grate Muslim General invaded this subcontinent in 712 A.D and conquered Sindh & Multan.
Soon after, Multan was attacked by Mehmood of Ghazni destabilising the Ismaili state.

Haram GateThis gate is said as a Haram Gate because many people say it has a Haram or Women quarter of the Saint Musa Pak Shaheed.
Bohar GateThis Gate faced towards the River Ravi. Once when Multan was a busy river port. This Gate is the main entrance for the food supply and communication. The gate called Bohar because out side this gate there are too many "Bohar" trees.
Lohari GateIn urdu "Loha" means Iron. The gate named Lohari because the out side vicinity of this gate many LOHARI lives and they have their workshops there.
Dehli GateThis Gate is named "Dehli" as this faces twoards the Dehli-India and this road leads towards Dehli. During Mughal Period, when ever the Kings or State Guests visits Multan they entered through this gate.
Dolat Gate(Demolished)This City Gate is vanished in early days. Only the name is alive & the place where it was to be. It is thought that the Gate called "Doulat Gate", because of the Mazar of "Pir Doulat Shah" which is on the front of the Gate.
Pak Gate (Demolished)This gate named Pak Gate not due to Pakistan, but because of the Saint Hazrat Musa Pak Shaheed. When he died on 33rd Shahban 1010 H, Firstly he was buried in Uch Shareef near his Father Syed Hamid Gunj Buksh. Then when his son saw his Grand Father in Dream Instructing him to get Musa out from his foot side, then he was buried again at "Moza Mungay Hatti". After 15 years his son have another dream who lives in Multan to give Musa back to Multan
Qila Qasim Bagh GateThis gate named Qasim Bagh Gate, because Muhammad Bin Qasim Was entered in Multan through this gate.

Jain TamplePerhaps 100 year old Mandir.It is located inside Bohar Gate near Chowk Bazar of Multan.
Prahladpuri Temple(Demolished)Parhaland Souram Mandir or Temple also spelled as Prahalandpuri temple in fort Kohna Multan does not exists any more. The Prahladapuri temple like the Sun Temple of Multan had been destroyed after Muslim conquest of Multan. Ruins are still found near Tomb Bahaudin Zikarya when visit Fort Kohna of Multan.
