On the “pull” stroke, the KDRV is closed to allow forfluid to fill on the “push” side. The ratio on this stroke isbased on the piston diameter minus the rod diameter

During the “pull” stroke, the fluidexits in the high mode

Multi-ratio Pump Example

The air piston diameter = 3.569 in The hydraulic rod diameter = .798 in

The hydraulic bore diameter = 0.874 in

The air piston area = /4 x D2 = 10 in2, The hydraulic rod area = 0.5 in2

The hydraulic bore area = 0.6 in2

The ratio on the push stroke is 10/0.5 = 20:1The ratio on the pull stroke is 10/(0.6-0.5) = 100:1

This pump will act like a 20:1 unit until the KDRV opens and then it will perform as a 100:1 unit
