A Recycling Program the WorksAs part of the management staff, you are crucial to asuccessful on-site recycling program. Your residentswill increase their recycling knowledge from the materials and guidance you provide and by following your recycling footsteps.
Three essential keys to a successful program:1) Convenient and well-labeled recycling containersnear every garbage container.2) Clear and informative recycling materials for allresidents.3) Management staff that exhibit and encouragegood recycling behaviors.
How can the Multifamily Recycling Program help? Our program can offer assistance with your on-siterecycling program in several ways:
• Conduct an on-site waste assessment to provide recommendations for waste reduction opportunities• Educate property owners and site managers about recycling and disposal options in Marion County• Provide a variety of bilingual (English & Spanish) materials including signs, container decals, fl iers, and brochures• Participate in community events & presentations
These services and materials are of no cost to you oryour residents. That means FREE!
Any property with a minimum of fi ve residentialunits including:• Apartments• Retirement & Senior Living• RV & Mobile Home Parks• Condominiums• Townhomes
Free On-site Recycling OptionsIf the property is located within your city’s urban growth boundary, you can request containers and pick-up service from your garbage hauler for mixed recycling (paper, metal, and plastic) and glass recycling at no additional cost to your current garbage collection service.
Recycle = ReduceRecycling saves natural resources. For your multifamily community, recycling could also mean reduced garbage service costs. To decrease these costs, you must reduce the frequency of garbage pick-up, the size of garbage containers or the number of collection containers.
The goal of the Multifamily Recycling Program is to increase the participation of recycling at your residential community. We do this by making recycling easy for you and your residents.
