Problem No. 3: “Maintaining Culture”

Multinet has a certain family-like culture, where all employees work together and prosper like a family, and help each other.

How they tackle it:

Whoever is deviant and does not conform, is called to the office, upper management talks to him, talks out their issues and motivates them back to conforming.

Problems Faced by Multinet

Problem No. 4: “Porching from Opponents”

Because Multinet hires specialized skilled labor, or trains their own employees, a lot of opponents envy them and try taking their employees by offering a higher salary or greater benefits.

How they tackle it:

They give employees freedom to go, but they have such an environment and motivated labor force, that people usually don’t leave, and the ones who do also come back.

Problem No. 5: “Gift giving/taking”

Multinet is a B-to-B supplier, so if any company wants to get their work done, they may come up to using wrong means and bribes.

How they tackle it:

Multinet has a clear cut “No giving and taking gifts” policy to avoid conflicts of interest and/or inequity.

Problem No. 6: “Geographically Large”

Multinet has their main office in Karachi, but networks and small offiies all over Pakistan, So, a lot of issues arise while delegating work and making new employees gain trust, or maintaining organization’s culture.

How they tackle it:

Some employees from Multinet Karachi visit other offices periodically, especially ones in rural areas, practically solve all the issues, and revive motivation within the employees by making them aware of the progress, etc.

One Major ProblemProblem: In 2004, Multinet started working on research of fibre optics and by 2005, were working on laying them out.

But due to it being a new idea and very expensive long-term investment, people resented it and were demotivated because the results were uncertain

Solution: They created awareness of this new project and it’s prospective advantages, made teams and delegated work with deadlines, gave new challenges everyday to increase efficiency.

Our Recommendations

They should establish a pay structure that is more merit-based

Exercise flextime, job-sharing and telecommuting, especially in the corporate department distribution

Have an ‘employee of the week/month’ program to intrinsically motivate employees further
