Sumdog is a website where you can practice your maths skills by playing fun games. There was a competition to answer 1,000 questions and Lacey Boyd (pictured) managed to come in 154th for our school. Murray McLean (308th), Orla Moran (372nd), Jodie McFarlene (436th), Liam Roopchand (486th) & Kolby Smith (747th) are also worth a mention, great job guys. Last week the school did lots of fun activities for maths week Scotland:  P1 - big maths activities in the gym hall  P2 - started measuring in metres P3 -used nature to explore symmetrical patterns and shapes P4 - used oil pastels to draw number pictures just like the artist Jasper Jones P5 - found out how shapes can make number patterns as they grow P6 - explored repeating patterns and curves of pursuit P7 have been learning about optical art Football Tuesday was the last night of the girl’s football club and we now welcome the boys to start on the 27th October and it will run for 8 weeks. We wish them all the best. Last Thursday, Mr Thomson led Heath- field’s Primary 7s as they tried out for the school football team. There was a fantastic turn out with some super talent on show. Everyone gave their all and we thank everyone for coming along. Miss Webster’s P5 class had a fairwell celebration for her and we all wish her the very best for the future and thank her for her support for so many years. Due to Covid-19, Primary 3 have not been able to lead the usual harvest celebrations but that hasn’t stopped their superb efforts. They produced fantastic posters and arranged for the goods to be taken to the local foodbank. The foodbank does an amazing job supporting local families and thanks to our generous Heath- field community that work can continue. Well done Primary 3 and everyone who donated to such a worthy cause. You are all Heathfield Harvest Heroes. IT’S Harvest time again at Heathfield primary school and our amazing Primary 3 pupils and staff have been working hard to make this year’s food collection a great success.
