Black fungus is a type of edible mu-shroom that has high nutrition, it is also Chinese traditional healthy food as well as an export commodity. Artificial cultivation origins from Ch-ina. The yield of Chinese Black fungus accounts for 98% of worldwide Black Fungus output, however, there is

several tricky problems to be solved in Chinese Black fungus industry. When Chairman Qi told a journalist about the serious situation of the current Chinese Black fungus industry, he said that, Black fungus’s scientific research is relatively backward; there is insufficient specific scientific research institution; the promotion of new cultivation technology to the old production area is backward and slow; there is no brand for high-quality Black fungus. These negative factors directly lead to the decreasing market price of Black fungus from Northeast during recent years. Estab-lishing an innovation platform for production, research and study, in-tegration resources from various in-dustry, that’s the key for promoting the overall upgrade of Chinese Black fungus industry. Thus, “National Black Fungus Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance” has been established. According to Chairman Qi, after the “National Black Fungus Industry Technology Innovation Strategic

Other deep-processing products, such as, special sauce, energy drink, cookie and nutrition products are forthcoming. Chairman Qi told the journalist that as native of Northeast, he has the responsibility to popularize the traditional and high-nutrition special products for more people to enjoy. The enterprise not only develops high-quality products, but also concentrates on quality inspection. As Chairman Qi said, “top enterprises pay attention to standards”. Under the guidance of Chairman Qi, the Beiwei company built seven food factories successively and the biggest national standardization production base by 300 million CNY. It breaks the traditional production mode of the family workshop, implements many steps of edible mushroom, such as, production, technology, capital and circulation, ensures products’ quality. In addition, the Chairman told the journalist, with the development of E-business, the Beiwei company has set-up a new website for agricultural products circulation, The World of Agricultural Products. Human recorded stories about glowing mushroom from ancient Greece, but the reason why mushroom glow in the dark (like a firefly) had not been identified. Recently, the answer was revealed in an article in the journay “Current Biology”. It was stated by scientists that the light emitted from glowing fungi is for attracting insects, such as, beetles, wasps and flies. These insects help mushroom to spread fungal spores to a wide area. At present, there are over 71 mushroom species of the over 100,000 known, that can glow in the dark. Besides, some other living beings, for example, insects, marine organisms, bacterium and fungi, are identified as glowing life forms. Previously, the price of Morel mushroom was considerably high, hunters are able to earn a profit of hundred dollars every day. However, Joachim Obst who is a biologist and mushroom specialist predicted that the profit this summer may be not satisfying compared with previous ones. Recently, Forest Research Institution of Gifu-ken, Japan, put forward a new mushroom cultivation technique. This technique uses enzymes amylase disintegrated from starch for growing mushroom. Mushroom farmers just need to add amylase to the mushroom bed. From the beginning of 2009, Forest Research Institution aimed to reduce production costs and improve edible mushroom’s quality. According to the researcher Kamitsuji, amylase facilitates the decomposition of sugar contained in mushroom bed, which makes the mushroom bed more conducive for mushroom growth. After the sterilization of the mushroom bed with over 90 degrees of heat, amylase is effective. At present , the amount of King oyster mushroom and Hypsizigus marmoreus have increased due to this new cultivation method. The highest growth rate of King oyster mushroom reached 36% within 40 days, the one of Hypsizigus marmoreus reached 18% in 90 days. (Reference: Yahoo)

There are thousands of disposable plastic products and toxic chemicals that are harming our land resources and water resources. According to a recent scientific research, 5.25 trillion plastic products are damaging the ocean; they can be found on any beach around the world. Besides, the land also contains numerous hydrocarbons, pesticides and other harmful substances. Therefore, the most effective way to deal with these issues in nature seems to be biodegradation, mushroom may be one of the most effective natural weapon for bioremediation.According to the book Mycelium Run-ning written by Paul Stamets who is the world’s leading mycologists, particular types of common mush-rooms can consume toxins in the soil. Meanwhile, as Paul contemplates, fungi can be regarded as a highly effec-tive natural pesticide. It will exert the positive influence on water resources, soil resources, and human health. Another research originated from Ecuador shows that, many entophytic fungi can consume plastic products under anaerobic conditions, as it has a great resistance for plastic pollution. Meanwhile, according to Stamets, mu-shroom has high nutritional value for humans, it includes inhibiting common bacteria, such as, Staphylococcus (Sta-ph), E Coli and Salmonella. These ba-cteria also positively affects breast cancer and colon cancer. (Reference: The New Zealand herald)
