EFFECTIVE October 26, 2008 NASHVILLE MTA Welcome aboard the transportation services of the Metropolitan Transit Authority! Nashville is a great and growing city, and as we have grown, so too have the services of Nashville MTA. Today, we have a bus system that reaches all major corridors in our city and demand for services has never been higher. This year, MTA reaches a significant milestone with the grand opening of the new Music City Central located downtown at 400 Charlotte Ave. Music City Central replaces the outdoor mall on Deaderick Street and creates a central hub for bus activity in the busy downtown business district. This state-of-the-art center provides a comfortable atmosphere for commuters with new features including: Climate-controlled waiting areas MTA ticket sales and information center Restroom facilities Retail tenants such as a coffee shop and newsstand The capacity to handle up to 24 buses at one time In addition to Music City Central, MTA has made numerous quality of life and environmental improvements in the past year. Six new hybrid 60-foot buses will be added to the fleet to relieve overcrowding on some of the busiest routes in early 2009. MTA has also welcomed new partners to the EasyRide commuter program with area businesses, state government, local universities and our own Metropolitan Government signing on to offer employees bus service as a transportation option for their commute to work. In the year to come, we look forward to Nashville MTA’s bus fleet joining forces with the Music City Star commuter train. By interconnecting the two systems, MTA will offer seamless transit services to customers who utilize both methods of transit. MTA is committed to offering superior customer service to its passengers. We hope you continue to be one of the thousands in Nashville that rely on MTA to get to your destination. Karl F.
