Music Magazine Masthead Analysis

The masthead of this magazine is simple yet, it works really well with the music magazines front cover. The red and white used for the masthead allows it to stand out, as the both work well together and a bright vibrant red have been used. The masthead also doesn’t take up as much space on the front cover as the normally would on other front covers. You can tell that the have designed the front cover so that is works well with the masthead, you can tell by the colour of the background which is white, and the person on the front cover is red and white cloth which match the masthead. As well as this the music magazine does what many other music magazines do with their mastheads, which is having the the music artist overlap the masthead on the front cover. This is done to show the significance and importance of the artist on the front cover. Lastly the the masthead features twice on the front cover, the second version is a much smaller one on the top right corner of the magazine.

This masthead like the previous one is simple, the font and white colour for the font are both very simple, The masthead has 4 other colours, which help to make it stand out, the red, blue,yellow and green are all bright colours and with the white used on the masthead, it helps make to masthead stand out a little. The Masthead takes up quite a large chuck of the top part of the magazine, which could’ve been done to show the significance of the music magazine. Another example of this is that unlike other music magazines, this one chooses to have the masthead overlapping the music artist on the front cover, this subverts what music magazines normally do with their mastheads, again this has been done to show the significance of the music magazine, rather than show how important the musician is.

This is another simple masthead that has been used for the front cover of a music magazine. However unlike the last two this masthead doesn’t use white in the masthead, but a dark green, like the other mastheads this one has a simple design. around the masthead the is bright red circle, which in combination with the white background, and the dark red, makes the masthead stand out, like the previous music magazine, this one has their masthead overlapping the music artist on the front cover, again to show the importance of the music magazine rather that h the music artist

This masthead used on this front cover of the music magazine is different from the previous ones, as it doesn’t just have one solid colour. On this one the top of the masthead is black, then as you go down the masthead it fades into a darkish red, this doesn't’ really help it stand that much, but it does separate it from other mastheads, making this one a little bit more unique than others. This masthead also takes up a large section the top of the front cover of the magazine. Like many other music magazines this masthead is overlapped to show the significance of the music artist of the front cover, which is different from the last two.

This is another simple Masthead, like a lot of other music magazines, this one uses a bright red colour for the masthead which helps make it stand it out, this is the only colour the use for the masthead. On this front cover the Masthead appears to be quite small, only taking up a small portion of the top left corner of the front cover This music magazine also has a small portion the masthead being overlapped by the the musician on the front cover.
