Hip-hop all day is a new magazine mainly targeted at people aged 16-35 both male and female.Readers are likely to be predominantly black with a love for hip-hop music. It will contain all areas of hip-hop including music posters, interviews etc.

My magazine will additionally contain the history of hip-hop artist and background information as well as new albums and top artist. Hip-hop all day will follow the lifestyle of a number of celebrities and contain recent and past memorable events and news.

My magazines front cover will be simple in design as the majority of hip-hop magazines are, the front cover of the magazine will be pictures as well some text as hip-hop magazines tend to be less informative, my example layout shows how the pages will mainly seem like which is predominantly pictures however also containing some text.

My example front cover shows the simplicity of my magazine, it contains the important features of hip-hop magazines in the correct areas.

Analysis of mastheads

The mastheads of hip-hop magazines tend to be covered by the large central images which mainly dominates the front page. This shows the magazine its self is well known and established , it doesn’t need to be shown for its genre to be recognised, furthermore the big central images is used to portray a sense of dominance . The colour schemes contained in the mastheads usually relates to the front cover for example in this case red and white as it’s the two main colours used in in hip-hop as a whole. Hip-hop magazine mastheads tend to be bold with capital letters which enables the magazine to stand out among other magazines.
