I think this song would appeal to any gender, race, nationality etc. There isn’t any specific target they are trying to attract. Lyrics (Meaning Implied?) The music video to accompany the release of "My Love" is a total length of three minutes and eleven seconds and was filmed in infrared. It follows a young man as he enters a club, dances with a young woman, leaves with her; they embrace in the rain and then go back to her house. She then showers and he leaves. Just before the video ends, it turns back to normal colour and the young man is shown walking out in the rain. The only lyrics said throughout the song are, ‘My love and my touch, Up above, made with the warmth of my’ relating back To both of the people in the video.

Target Audience & Needs

Route 94 are very popular to teens, Route 94 create a lot of house music/ deep house which is popular at festivals and nightclubs therefore when this song gets played it’s more likely to be listened to by teenagers to early 20’s. I think this song would appeal to any gender, race, nationality etc. There isn’t any specific target they are trying to attract.

Lyrics (Meaning Implied?)

The music video to accompany the release of "My Love" is a total length of three minutes and eleven seconds and was filmed in infrared.

TempoThe tempo of this is made by its heavy piano thuds and gauzy electro glow offset by the radio friendly vocals of Jess Gylnne. It creates a tempo that is upbeat and catchy so without the lyrics being said you would still know what song it was just with the backing track.

Genre ‘My Love’ is deep house/Eurodance with this genre of music being so popular now when this song came out in 2013 house music wasn’t so popular then but when it realised in 2014 everyone loved it. This song I believe it one of the songs that made deep house so popular.

Camera Technique In the music video they use a lot of close ups, long shots ect to show the atomosphere of the night club that the video is filmed in, it sterotypes what you expect to see in a night club. There is a close up of a girl doing drugs and then drinkng looking very drunk and holding on to her face. By using the close up it shows us her face and just by looking at her eyes and her facial experessions you can tell she’s intoxicated. It shows you a clip of the Dj mixing as this happens this is when the dance rhythum comes in and shows you a birds eye view of the night club and everyone dancing with eachother. They use all the camera techniques to show the different body langauage between people, holding hand, being drunk and hugging and holding each other. (Pictures to show this below)

Editing The editing of the video is simple it just shows us clips of what is going on throughout the night, people making cocktails, chatting people up and having a good time dancing.

Use of Digital Effects You can’t actually make out who the people are in the video because all the video is in infrared; the only bit that is clear is when the lad is walking into the nightclub at the beginning and when he leaves her house at the end. I really think the fact you can’t make out their faces is an effective idea, it’s like you’re in the night club with them because it’s so dark you can’t actually make out what people look like so it gives you that feeling that you’re in the video to. It engages with the audience and because the video is stereotyped what you would tend to see in a night club people could relate to it

or have a discussion about it. Even though it’s not clear it’s still clear to us what is happening.
