How are the music videos generally made? What is the producti on process?

They way people shoot a music v ideo music v ideo is whi le they're fi lming the scenes for

a music v ideo, they p lay the song so that the music ian's can act out the song.

Whether the guitar ists are rea l ly p lay ing dur ing the fi lming or not doesn't matt er, as

the sound used for the v ideo is what was recorded in the studio. Drummers , however,

do have to at least h i t the cymbals i f they want i t to look l ike they're real ly p lay ing.

I asked some bands whether they had better sales with or without music videos, and found that they get much better sales with a music video because it gives the audience something to look at as well which makes it more appealing, therefore will revive more sales and views. This is also important for an industry funding the band in the music video because if you invest more money into the project, the better well it will be received. However this is not always the case because it doesn’t always attract an audience which means they have just lost out on some money. Furthermore some bands may prefer to just making a recording- this could also be because the Band don’t want to be judged on their appearance as a band but would prefer to be judged on their music instead.

AVERAGE MONEY SPENT ON A MUSIC VIDEO

The amount of money spent on a music vide really does very much depend on the band notoriety, genre and budget. What I mean by this is that the band will either go to a production company to hire the appropriate equipment; spend their own money on equipment, or alternatively not spend anything at all because you only need a small video camera. This opens up many opportunities to the public which means anyone can effectively make a music video!
