UiTM Faculty of Music Music Series

December 2017

We are proud as the nation’s first Faculty of Music in a public institution, the

faculty is on a path that will see it emerge as a strong force in music in higher

education.

The faculty is devoted to the advancement of music and scholarship in Malaysia

through academic excellence and high performance standards.

Our mission is to prepare students to become professional musicians and music

educators in a holistic manner through creative teaching-learning strategies and

research. We strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment while

challenging students to develop their talents to the fullest.

With a student population of over 500 students, the relatively small size of the

faculty provides a conducive and productive atmosphere for ensuring individual

attention for students in their music studies. We place an importance in

maintaining a balanced emphasis on both performance and scholarship while

presenting students with the training necessary to excel within their chosen field.

The UiTM Faculty of Music is thrilled to enter the last month of 2017 with events

and activities which are exciting. Highlights of December include the voice

audition for popular TV program 'I Can See Your Voice Malaysia 2' by NTV7,

Yamaha Music Recruitment Program event, Music Performance Program

students' Final Recital ranging from classical vocal to modern drum and with our

external examiner, Associate Professor Dr Kevin James Class (Belgian/USA

pianist) ends the program with masterclass and a piano recital in collaboration

with Bentley Music and Malaysia Steinway Young Rising Stars program. We

sincerely hope that you can join us in some if not all of these events!

Thank you for your continuous support for UiTM Faculty of Music!
