Our School Anzac Day ceremony will be held this Friday in the school hall commencing at 10.00am – all parents welcome. All students are invited to attend the town’s Anzac March and ceremony on Saturday 25 th April. Students must be at Simpson Park by 9.45am on Saturday morning, ready to march with the school. Students are asked to wear their winter uniform. We are looking forward to a good number of students attending the march to mark this very important 100 Year anniversary of Anzac Day and to be representatives of our school. Yours In Education Karen Rayner Relieving Principal Quote of the week: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. NOTE: There will be no Assembly next week Monday 27 th April. Financial Support For Your Children If you have not as yet paid your child/children’s School Contribution please consider doing it. These funds are collected from all families and form a vital part of our school budget. In order to provide for the quality and variety of opportunities at MSPS we need families to continue to support the Contribution Scheme. Thank you to those families who have paid their $20 per child. Netball News Friendly Match Against Aberdeen. On the last day of Term 1, myself, Mrs Kelman, 15 girls from the netball club, parents and South supporters went to Karoola Park netball courts, ready to play against Aberdeen Public School. All girls played half a game – for some it was their first netball game ever. South girls played exceptionally well, displaying outstanding, improved netball skills. This improvement was reflected in the end score, South winning the game, 26 to 17! Needless to say spirits were high on the return to school. Congratulations girls – a well-deserved win. In Term 2 netball club girls will be encouraged to try out for the PSSA Knockout Team – 9 girls will be selected to represent our school. Good luck to all girls who intend on trying out. Sarah Watson, Netball Coach.
