The settingsBegan Industrialization
First, Agricultural revolution made great efficiency in
farming. Then many farmers who did not have works
began other jobs.
Second, there were many inventors and
entrepreneurs appeared.
Further, abundant natural resources and political
stability helped spread Industrial revolution.
Spread Industrialization
Railroad made us new jobs, transportation, travel
easier. This boom helped us to spread Industrial
revolution.

The ProblemClasses
The gap between wealthy class and working class
became more bigger.
Environment
The Industrialization made environment bad. They
made air pollution from the factories chimneys.
Working Conditions
There were many people who work hard were not only
adults, but also children. Children cant get enough
salary as much as their works.

The society was capitalism and
they had many problems. They
wanted equality in society, so
socialism was rose.
Capitalism is thinking people
should be work for own wealthyand self-interest lead market
better. In contrast, socialism
emphasized importance of
equality. Marxism was most
radical and famous socialism.
He said all goods and serviceswould be shared equally.
Socialism was supported by
poor people such as artisans
dont have works and mill
workers.

The EventsUnions
Working people joined each other to press reforms.
This group was called unions. They demanded owners
higher conditions and higher pay, and if owners refuse
it, they did strike. The unions that became more
popular and built up a membership about 1 million
people, forced political leaders to reform about
working condition and child labors.
Womens Rights
Women earned just one-third money as much as men.
So movements
for womens rights began in United States and spread.

became worse. So workers demanded to reform.

such as Canada, Australia,
New Zealand, and Ireland for
penal colony. But they

United StatesIn 1873, America was independent from Britain.

The ProblemRight to vote
In 1800s, right to vote was limited. Only wealthy class
men could vote and government was ran by upper
class, so lower class could not join governing. Also,
Women couldnt neither.
Jews
There were people who dont like Jews.
Canada
The first colonists were French, but after Britain
defeated France, Britain started colonize. But
religious and cultural differences between both
countries caused conflicts.
Ireland
Ireland was also British colony and it was started in
the 1100s.
United States
Abraham Lincoln was elected president, but there
were people who dont agree with Abraham.

Each colony got right to self-rule. Canada was the first
country.

Because Dreyfus affair happened, Anti-Semitism,
prejudice Jews again was spread among people.
United States
Abraham Lincoln issued Emancipation Proclamation.
Social Darwinims
Charles Darwin wrote On the Origin of Species by
Means of Natural Selection. This book made big
influence among people.

Many Jews started work for their homeland in
Palestine.
Inventor
After these problems solved,
many inventors appeared such
as Thomas Edison, Wright
Brothers, Henry Ford. They
invented telephone, light bulb,
car, automobile, phonograph,
Motion pictures, airplane.
Rise of mass culture
As a result of public education, short working time,
and increase of communication, mass culture rose.
This culture effected some entertainments such as
music, movies.
