Every spring bears come out of hibernation at Knight Inlet, a 100 km long fjord carved by glaciers in the coastal mountains. These majestic animals can be seen from a boat on the banks of Glendale Cove. Halifax has so much to offer, a remarkably beautiful harbour, major concerts in Canada’s oldest urban park, Buskers festivals, food festivals, Canada’s oldest farmers market and picnicking in a park that the Queen rents to the province for a shilling a year.

Halifax has been the happening capital of the east coast since the British first settled here in 1749. The atmosphere in the city has been described as urban cool wrapped up in the easy smile of a warm maritime welcome. This little gem of a city has so much to see and do, from the Citadel shaped fortress that overlooks the harbour to Pier 21 (Canada’s Ellis Island) from the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia to the Maritime

Museum of the Atlantic, where many artefacts from the Titanic are exhibited, and when the sun goes down the city sparks into life with the sound of live music in many of the bars and restaurants dotted along the harbour front.
