FOCUS / THEMEFashion and Graphics is the area that is of great interest to me. I am interested in typography and Asian graphic design. The theme for this project will be exploration of visualisation / transformation between typography and fashion.

After I read the references / books about typography/ typographic styles, I became completed hooked on typography in everywhere especially all editorials pages and shopping displays, I discovered that although there are many kinds of typography, there is usually not many interaction between the letters.

To display an enthusiasm for the fashion that can assemble typographic, photographic, graphic communications more, which will be rework as the structure of fashion graphics.

So I would like to make typographic designs or fonts that make up random stories when they are written because I believe that words are montage in a picture that shows the full story or full definition of each word. But font itself has no function of delivering messages without reading it. That is why I believe image is message. So font can show messages without placing alphabetical. Perhaps, the project would look at how this could be communicated to the public through look books or magazines and a window display, for example in a large shopping store like Selfridges and Liberty by sending emails or make appointments, and i collect images and editorial pages from magazines that I have collected.

FOCUS / THEME

TARGETAUDIENCE

I still consider about my target audience for these focus / theme and problem. So, I have to make a list of my target audience generally.

Anyone who is interested in any areas of art and designs as they pass through these environment, using and interacting with them. Perhaps, the age range of general public should be young adult to mature and possibly art students and working people in the creative industry.

Last but not least is designers who would view my portfolio for future job opprtunities.

Maybe not everyone is ever care about the typography in the fashion industry. However, Typography is a key element to help editorial and display become extraordinary in different ways.

Generally, most of typographic designs for fashions always use similar typefaces or same techniques of graphic communications for fashion.

PILOT RESEARCHIDEAS / CONCEPTS

As graphic designers we live in a world where we sit in front of a computer for hours and use fonts stored in our hard drive. I have some ideas to encourage designers to draw type inspired by images from magazines / campaigns.

I researched about how possible dohuman body shapes related to typography. As I grew up and became a designer the obsession changed to typography. I have connected my obsessions and translated it through this poster or postcards.V

Accordion Book contains fashion pictures without text.(Human Alphabet)

This accordion book contains black and white pictures without text. I do my works to photocopy to test with screen-printing. I would like to try with lithography which i trained in the workshop last year.

Illustrative-Face typesEach letter of “Face Type” created by each individual from a different country, and I tried to analyze their own handwritten letters. Then I will create new letter from them by using illustrator with black and white colors. It could be used by screen-printing for my possible outcomes.I also would like to take photo of human beings around streets to pose types shaped as models usually poses for fashion industries.

Print on editorial pages.I chosen some strong editorial designs and tried to use graphic techinques with a different materials ( colour papers) as I created as illustration layout. After all, I visited to Brick Lane to look for type sets and bought two type sets. I would like to try Letterpress with my some draft illustration layouts.
