My Media Magazine Evaluation
Made By Kieran Mackender
How does my magazine represent social groups?
• My magazine has aspects of most music genres that all ages may enjoy. For example, There are music reviews and competitions that the older person might enjoy.
• On the other hand I have interviews with well known stars that the ounger generation may enjoy reading.
• Also there are a lot of photos and pictures throughout my magazine so my magazine isnt to boring.
Who would be the audience for my media product?
• My main target audience would be the younger generation as this magazine is based around a younger sort of music. Also the interviews of singers or bands are the people that the younger generation would listen to.
• On the other hand people of the older generation from around 30-40 years of age may enjoy the reviews of albums and singles.
• The main parts of my magazine that the younger generation may enjoy could be the competition s, fun pages or mabe the qiuz’s.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
• The media institution that may want to distrubte my magazine could be well known stores for example:
• WHSmith• Tesco • One-Stop• Spar• HMV• And various corner shops . I would need a publishing company to publish my magazine so
that it was 100% profesional for the shop shelves.• Also they may want to distibute my product because it was a very interesting magazine and
would make big profit.
How did you attract the audience?• The main technique that I used is to use bold and colourful writing. Also to make my ictures
stand out with a nice exotic backgroun• Moreover I tried to space out all of my work so it looked more appealing. For example I
wouldn’t have to much text and images in the same place.• I tried to make the main headings of the front cover very attractive and powerful, so that the
audience would be impressed with my magazine. I also used a underground kind of font to go with my magazine and its genre.
What have I learnt about technologies in the process of constructing this product?
• I have learnt many things about microsoft publisher, the program I have been using. I have learnt the following
• How To crop properly• How to produce a double page spread• How to make magazine pages presentable• How to trim pictures and how to make them overlap
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
• My final magazine produciton is a massive step ahead of my prelim. I used colours that didn’t go together and fonts that only came from word art.
• On the other hand my final magazine had good fonts that I used from www.dafont.com. I also produced some colour charts for my final magazine so that it definitely looked good.
• I also took my photos more proffesionally and with some background on them. I then cropped these photos I then took of the back gorund so it blends in with my magazine front cover.
• Moreover on the prelim task I didn’t crop nor did I blend them with my background• I have learnt a lot from doing a prelim , reviewing top magazinez then going away to produce
my own professional magazine.
