The space induced by the volume takes an introverted private meaning instead of the external space that belongs to the street. Both of these themes differentiate by their nature: green and calm for the private spaces, rambunctious and mineral for the public spaces.

The viewpoints offered between the volumes are used to link the all to its environment, either by extension of a courtyard area to the east or in response to a massive volume on the west, whose form and function (scholar) create a tension with the site.

The project is a superposition of duplex distributed by a corridor, which thereby significantly reduces the number of entries and vertical distributions while providing double height spaces within apartments.

The issue of this project is to clarify the end of Dufour Street by building a housing complex on a non-place along this street.

This approach aims to give a true identity to the site and specify flowing around it to better define it.

Two L volumes are implanted close to the limit to duct the street space. They articulate a semi-private courtyard detached from the public thoroughfare.

Urban Densification

This test attempts to connect two densification urban fabrics by harmonizing a heterogeneous urban situation underlying the site.

The city center of Fribourg tends to spread west of the railways in an area structured by the presence of large housing community, originally composed of individual habitats.

The project incorporates the bar element worked according to the volumetric wishes governing this site. A massive front-street volume, a high bar of housing and an administrative and commercial building are part of the results.

TO HARMONIZE

The buildings are arranged around a central public courtyard. The release created in the center of the complex ensures the qualities of sunshine for all.

The accomodations are through to create extended opportunities outward and increase the effect of spatiality.

The offices are designed on a radiating plan to bring light in depth through ribbon windows.

The hotel enjoys a central skylight illuminating the internal circulations. Double heights provide breathing space in recreational areas.

Learning and Housing Building

On a untapped plot take up a continuing education and accommodation program marking the end of the stairs Guintzet.

Located in an area where residential use and institutional mix, this free zone is an important place on the high hill of Guintzet. A busy line that would be good to increase.

The program is part of two overlapping and offset bars generating two outdoor spaces. A public access court and a private terrace for cafeteria compose the outdoor spaces.

TO ACCENTUATE

Perpendicularly positioned to the slope, the volume is the culmination of the stairs Guintzet with its radical attitude that contrasts with the layout of the several institutional buildings around.

Divided over three levels, spaces are organized according to their assignment, from most public to most private, in a systematic orientation.

Natural Environment Implantation

Away from the inhabited area, topographic diversity of incomparable richness allows very strong relations with the interior. View and light are central themes.

TO ESTABLISH

The establishment of a training center in a natural environment characterized by a valley, a clearing and a hill predisposes the project to be based on these elements.

The introverted and secluded position of the site in a forest devoid of buildings provides an optimal retreat for study, reflection, change of scenery.

By positioning itself out of slope, the volume dialogues between the clearing and the emptiness of the valley, looking for emotional connections with the outside.

Principe conceptuel et structurelLe concept est inspir de l'enclos pour animaux. Enanalogie la cage, les volumes sont structurs par larptition de pilastres supportant la couverture. Souscette couverture s'insre un volume chauff liant le sol la couverture.

De manire constante, une coursive couverte, ouvertesur le parc, marque l'accs aux diffrentes parties duprogramme. La trame de la structure extrieure y estalors largie an d'inviter le visiteur s'y rendre.

TO REQUALIFY

Located along the Aar river, the visitorspark of Dhlhlzli zoo, Berne, occupies a surface below said Dhlhlzli zoo.

The disorganized nature of the park and the abstraction of access doesnt confer identity to the park. In addition, the different functions mix irrationally.

The different volumes and enclosures are positioned in both vertical offsets that side in order to identify areas most generous around access and requalify pathways.

Visitor Center for the Dahlhlzli Zoo, Bern, Switzerland

The project includes 7,500 m2 of program on a plot of 20,000 m2. It grows as a pavillonaire system. The concept is that of a hot box inside a cold external structure.

Functions are divided into the volumes on the public / private theme, public areas constituting the center of the project.

The pillars of the external structure are concrete reminder the plateau where the project takes place is formed of alluvium.

The project idea is based around the operation of the object that unfolds around an axis. The fact of closing around a circular motion and ending up in a kind of intimate sphere is its distinctive feature. The universe is closed, dark and individual.

Through this material that we encountered almost everywhere, the theme of shelter for homeless takes a very strong sense. Imagine how a shelter with materials that could be found in the street?

This project attempts to embellish this picture somewhat by a formal response evoking the crib in a relatively simple and low cost implementation.

This temporary cardboard shelter is intended to accommodate one or more persons.

Based on the art of origami, the concept is the result of a research for structural optimization, climate and aesthetics related to the theme of the cardboard.

The elongated and flared up form, stiffened by a folding in two directions, forms an introverted cocoon in which the individual can fit.
