Configure the Ilumina multi-purpose input tray for the magnetic media. Go to the front panel and press the down arrow and select the Menu option. Locate the Tray Configuration – MPTray Config and set as follows: Paper Size = Set to media size Media Type = Magnetic (NOTE: If this media type is not available, see Ilumina Code Update on Page 2.) Media Weight = Ultra Heavy3 2. Locate the MEDIA SELECT switch next to the multi-purpose input tray and move to >300gsm mode. 3. Open the face-up exit tray. 4. Place the magnetic media face-up, one sheet at a time in the multi-purpose input tray. 5. From the application print selections select the Page Size, Media Type, and Output Bin. To Achieve Maximum Durability Post processing using a heated roll laminator For optimum durability the printed magnetic media can be processed through a heated roll laminator. This procedure improves the durability of the printed image and does not require lamination film. 1. If the laminator is a variable speed unit set the speed to medium. 2. Set the laminator temperature to a medium high setting. The surface exit temperature should not exceed 200ºF (94ºC). 3. Place the imaged magnetic media on a sheet of paper and feed through the laminator. Post processing using an oven 1. Put a metal cookie sheet on the top rack. This sheet will reduce the direct heating of the oven coils. 2. Pre-heat the oven to 300ºF (150ºC). 3. Turn the oven off to prevent the elements from super heating the media. 4. Place the magnetic media on a second metal carrier sheet and place in the oven on the rack under the metal sheet added in step 1. 5. Remove the sheet after 30 – 45 seconds. 6. Take care to not touch the surface of the magnetic media until it has cooled.
