I dedicate this book to my grandma who taught me to live life to it’s fullest and to put school before
boys.
I was born on July 15, 1993 here
in Honolulu Hawaii on
O`ahu. Raised and still
residing in Kalihi, I have
never been off this island.
I have a full Caucasian mother named Tina, a full Tongan father named Pasiaka, a sister named Daisy, another
sister named Pauline and a brother named Matekitonga. I also have a dog named Trixie who I
consider a part of the family.
In Elementary I attended Kapalama
then Kalihi-Kai. I went to Kalakaua for middle school,
then came to Farrington where I currently walk the halls as a junior,
c/o 2011
I love to go to the beach with my friends or to the movies. My friends and relationships are really
important to me so I try to spend a lot of time with them.
I want to excel in all my schooling, High school and college, then
eventually go on to become either a teacher or a novelist.
I want to attend college at UH to stay close with my friends and family. I would gladly go anywhere I’m accepted but I want to stay close to home.
One pivotal moment in my
life is when my Grandma died. It was scary and
heartbreaking.Another
moment would be my family
reunion where I met family members I didn’t even know I had.
• My Mom who taught me how to do my best
• My Dad who taught me how to work hard for what I want
• My grandma who taught me how important school is
• My sister Daisy who taught me everything I needed to know about what life has in store.
I want to learn what makes a good teacher. I want to also gain experience in the classroom and I
hope to learn a lot from this academy.
My name is Ainise Marie Potauaine and I live in Kam housing, in Kalihi. I am a junior at Farrington high school and I am in the teacher’s academy aspiring
to be a teacher.
