The Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) sup- ported by Emergen-C Blue ® is the Surfrider Foundation’s volunteer- run, water testing, edu- cation and advocacy program. Surfrider Chapters use this pro- gram to raise com- munity awareness of water quality problems and to work toward so- lutions. The BWTF mea- sures bacteria levels at both marine and freshwater beaches and compares them to federal water quality standards established by the EPA to protect public health in rec- reational waters.
