GREAT START Thanks everyone who has supported us in ensuring we have had a great start with the kids and
yourselves. The kids came back very excited and happy to be renewing old friendships and making new
ones as well as meeting new staff members. You will see new staffs profiles in this newsletter.
Over the holidays we had a wedding and an engagement which was very exciting for us.

Hoax phone calls to Victorian schools
I just wish to reassure you in light of the recent hoax threatening phone calls to Victorian schools in the
last few days.
Our school has not received such a call but I wanted to inform you that, like all schools, we have an
emergency management plan in place for situations like this, and we practise it throughout the year.
Those schools which did receive a threatening call enacted their emergency management plans and
they worked well.
The safety and wellbeing of our students is always our top priority.
If you have any questions please contact Jo at the school on 50231633.
CARPARK
We have put the map/plan concerning our traffic management on Facebook yesterday. If you would like
another hard copy please pop into the office. We really urge you to ensure you do not park on the
gravel area near the large skip bins as this is a staff area and it is unsafe for children to be moving about
in this area. Also just a friendly reminder, please do not walk through any car parks – staff and parent at
any time.
EARLY ARRIVALS
It isn’t a problem if you are working and need to drop your children off a bit early – the portable will be
the area that these students go to at 8.15 am where they will be supervised each morning by Annette
Manna. Please talk to your students about this as they are not to be in the yard playing as there is no
supervision. Prior to 8.15 am students are still to come to the administration area. Students are not to
be in learning spaces prior to 8.30 unless with a parent doing before school
reading etc.
CHROMEBOOKS
They are here for those who ordered in 2015 and as parents pay the first
instalment of $95 children are being delivered their brand new Chromebook.
Please note that if you pay by BPay it takes 2 days for this to come through
to the school account.
GUITAR & DRUMS
There are still a few vacancies for guitar lessons this year, please pop into the office for an expression of
interest form for 2016 if your child would like to participate in the guitar or drum programs
NEWSLETTER EMAILED
If you would like your newsletter emailed rather than a paper copy. Please contact the office.
CHECK OUT OUR OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE
YAMMER New parents will receive today via email an invite to Yammer and a package. Please check this out and engage in this very
important individualised communication tool. If you require assistance please pop into the school.

BOOK CLUB
The first issue of Book Club has been given out; if you have not received a catalogue please see your
child’s teacher. If your child would like to purchase items, please ensure the order form at the rear of the catalogue is clearly labelled with name, grade, items purchased and total money.
A reminder that if you are paying using credit card you will need to ring the number provided and record your receipt number on the order form. As there is a change of procedure this year regarding the
rewards that our school receives please let the scholastic staff know that your child is a student of our school. Cheques are to be made out to Scholastic Book Club.
All orders must be sent IN AN ENVELOPE LABELLED WITH THE CHILD’S NAME, CLASS AND
TITLE (BOOK CLUB) TO THE OFFICE Due Date: 9a.m. Monday 8th February
SPECIAL NOTE: Owing to the huge task that is required to order Book Club any orders that have mistakes eg. addition incorrect, forms not filled out and signed etc. will not be processed and
will be returned.
Every sale through Book Club helps us to buy resources for our school. Thank you for your support.
