Our line of 22mm and 50mm Captron capacitive switches offer the latest technology for pushbuttons and switches. These capacitive pushbuttons are designed to be activated by means of the capacitance characteristics human bodies posses. The switch design is capable of detecting changes in capacitance. When a person touches the face of the switch with a finger or body part, the finger or body part will increase the capacitance of the switch causing it to activate.
These switches are also designed to have a determinate sensing distance, which may be altered by varying the approach speed and/or damping factor. A quickly approaching finger or body part (i.e., elbow, palm of hand, etc.) will achieve a higher sensing distance than a slowly approaching body part.
