HOW TO APPLY

Kent State Trumbull offers students the opportunity to earn associate and bachelor’s degrees in almost 30 different disciplines or begin coursework in any of the more than 280 undergraduate degree programs offered by Kent State University, all while paying the lowest university tuition rates in the region.

APPLY FOR ADMISSIONApply for admission to Kent State Trumbull at www.kent.edu/trumbull/apply.

1. Complete the admissions application

• If you have not attended any type of schooling beyond high school, apply as a new freshman.

• If you have attended classes beyond high school at a college, university, technical, business or trade school, apply as a transfer student.

• If you are unsure how you should apply, please call 330-675-8860 and ask to speak to Admissions.

2. Pay the application fee

• Pay online using a credit or debit card, or

• Choose Pay Later to pay with cash or check in person at the Student Services Office.

3. Submit an official high school transcript or GED certificate and test scores to:

If you have enrolled in classes beyond high school — college, university, technical, business or trade school — submit an official transcript to the above address.

Once we receive everything listed above, we will proceed. Then, you will receive your acceptance letter in the mail with information about placement assessment and course registration.

TYPES OF AID

SCHOLARSHIPSKent State Trumbull offers scholarship awards based on a variety of criteria, including financial need, academic merit and field of study.

GRANTSGrants are a form of gift aid and do not have to be repaid. Kent State University participates in several federal and state grant programs.

LOANSLoans are a form of self-help aid and must be repaid. Various types of federal loans and private loans are available.

FEDERAL WORK STUDYFederal Work Study (FWS) is a type of self-help aid that must be earned. The FWS award will not be deducted from the student’s bill. A student will receive a biweekly paycheck based on hours worked.

Once we receive your FAFSA information and have sent you an acceptance letter welcoming you to the university, you will receive a letter outlining the financial aid you’ve been awarded. After receiving your financial aid award letter, you will need to accept your financial aid via the Financial Aid link in FlashLine.

FlashLine is Kent State University’s online portal. There, you can access your student dashboard, email, Blackboard and more!

New borrowers must complete Entrance Counseling and sign their Master Promissory Note (MPN) at WWW.STUDENTLOANS.GOV. You will need to log in using your FSA ID.

THEATRE: The Kent State Trumbull Theatre partners with the local community and K-12 school systems.
