During the festival, Pam Foss will create sculptures in her studio and under a tent in the yard alongside the Pam Foss Sculpture Gallery. Put your unique print on premade pottery at the Clay Bakers, or make your own with a little help. (Staff members do the firing and glazing.) Since 1958, the Academy Art Museum has been the center of Easton’s art scene, thanks to its collection of local works (including past Plein Air festival pieces), as well as its performances and lectures. At Washington Street Pub, the draft options run up to 22 beers. The South Street Art Gallery hosts “The Great American Landscape,” including eight festival competitors, through July. For your drinking and viewing pleasure, the Friday Morning Artists install a new collection inside Coffee East the first Friday of every month. The local hangout also hosts blues, folk and other concerts. Hundreds of artists will paint a la Monet at the Plein Air festival in Easton next week. For mealtime, don’t go indoors. Eat lunch or dinner on Mason’s patio or front porch. Lose yourself in the dreamy landscapes of plein-air competitor and Grafton Galleries owner David Grafton. The Talbot County Visual Arts Center, which offers painting workshops and classes, is showing works from the recent Mid Shore Plein Air Competition. The Historic Tidewater Inn hosts a plein-air painting demonstration with Lee Boynton, founder and president of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. During the seven-day festival, accomplished artists from across the country will plant their paint sets on the genteel streets, grassy fields and shorelines of Talbot County. “It was becoming diffi cult to overlook my

advancing age, thirty-one, and soon, thirty-two

— an age for an unmarried woman that makes

Indian aunties shudder in horror.”

— The situation begins to feel dire before the author’s journey

Anyone interested in a lively,

irreverent look at the changing

societal and sexual mores of

newly globalized Indian cities will appreciate

Jain’s richly detailed account.

The author’s self-proclaimed “insouciant”

wit starts to grate about halfway through.

It would be easier to root for her romantic

success if she didn’t constantly act out on

dates in ways that seem (sometimes) rude and

(more often) mildly deranged.

— Sara Cardace

“Well, I don’t need no doctor /

To tear me all apart / I just

needed you / To mend my heart”

— “Hang On”

Encompassing sounds from folk

it’s an idiosyncratic carnival

of an album, with hand claps,

harmonies, biblical allegories

and hooks aplenty.

Other than that it’s a concept album (about the

vagaries of fate) and that the band contains no

I don’t know if it does / Is this really all /

That there ever was?”

Its “In Rainbows”-like delivery method has made

Trent Reznor newly relevant, yet “The Slip” bears

all the sonic hallmarks of NIN’s classic discs. It’s

“Jackson is a eunuch. He was

at a very young age.”

— Knight realizes why his stint as a Michael Jackson impersonator

didn’t get him more play with the ladies

Not only do you get Knight’s

hilariously funky take on human

idiosyncrasies, you also get a

uniquely observed almanac of

societal and pop culture trends of

Spacey seems to have cashed out

whatever charm he used to have, and

“It’s boil-in-the-bag perversion for sexually
